Halloween Fun!

This time last year I was almost 8 months pregnant, so I didn't get a chance to make any Halloween cards. So, this year, I made sure I made a few to send out to my friends and family. These are two of the cards I made over the weekend. All of my supplies were from SU except for the ribbon. The ribbon was a cute cute Halloween collection from Oriental trading. I'm so happy I finally got the chance to use some of it! The cards are very simple, and I'm ok with that.
I would love to hear about your Halloween plans so let me know what you are doing this year!

The Holidays are Just Around The Corner!

Can you believe that October is almost over? Thanksgiving will be here before you know it, and then Christmas right around the corner. I am going to have a 1st Birthday Party for Cameron in the first of December so I guess I better get crackin on ideas for his invitations! Anyways, I finally had time to play in my card room yesterday and I made this card. I picked up the pretty ribbon from Big Lots yesterday and just knew I had to make something with it asap! The stamps are all from SU, the "Peaceful Wishes" set, and "Sincere Salutations". I embossed the star with gold embossing powder. I think it added the perfect touch! This weekend we don't have any big plans. I think we are just going to rest and relax.

I also wanted to remind you of the Stampin' Up! 20th Birthday celebration sale. if you spend $20 you can order any of the birthday sets for 20% off! This sale ends on Oct. 31st. Let me know if you would like to take advantage of the sale.

Fall in the Shenendoah Mountains!

This is the park boundery of Shendoan National Park that is right down the street from my house.
This pic is the view leaving my house...beautiful isn't it?
Skyline Drive
A Deer Family in the park.

My Sister and Brother left today and boy is it quiet around here! I miss them so much already. The visits always seem too short, but I am thankful that they were able to come visit for the time they were here. We spent alot of time enjoying the beautiful Fall says while they were here. The colors have not peaked yet in the Shenandoah National Park, but there were patches of beautiful color here and there. Here are a handful of pictures that my sis and I took. I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Fall Colors!

I actually did make a card today but the sun will be going down soon so the lighting is terrible. I'll post a pic in the morning when I have plenty of sunshine! So, for your viewing pleasure I am posting two pictures that I took from our back deck yesterday afternoon! The leaves have changed even more today. I wish you all could come over and see how beautiful it is for yourselves. My brother and sister will be here on Friday and I am soooo excited! I have been busy getting the house ready so that is why my blog has been neglected this week. I hope all of you are having a wonderful week!

Where Did the Week Go?

Where in the world did the last 3 days go? My days have been going by so quickly lately. Cameron is into a lot more and I spend much of my day running after him. He took 3 complete steps all by himself yesterday!! He was so proud of himself. Joe and I couldn't be prouder of our little boy. Here is a pic of his bath the night before last:

For this card I used the retired SU set Garden Silhouette's, and a sentiment from an Inkadinkado set I bought a few months ago. When I sat down at my desk my goal was to make a simple card that didn't have a lot of embellishments or layers. I am so very happy with the way this card turned out. The colors I used were Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, and Pink Pirouette. I also used some of my retired Hodgepodge hardware from SU. The chocolate satin ribbon was a roll I bought at Big Lots for 1.00. 10 yards for $1.00. I love that place!

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. We have a busy weekend ahead of us because my Brother and Sister are coming to visit one week from today!!!! I have to have things perfect (my OCD =0)) so it will be busy here the next 7 days. I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy!

Well, Monday is here once again. The weekends go by much too quickly! We had lovely weekend of flea marketing, and just spending time together. I can't think of a better way to spend a weekend. I didn't get any card making done this weekend, gasp! It was World Card Making day on Saturday and I hope you had a good one! For this card I used the new Stampin Up set " A Flower For All Seasons". It is so cute, and fun to color. I think I'll be using this one a lot! The papers are all from SU, Chocolate Chip card stock, and the Hostess paper pack. The sentiment is from the SU set "Happy Everything". This was a very simple card, but I think it turned out nicely. I hope you all had a Happy Monday!

Fall is Here!

The weather this week has been wonderful! The leaves are starting to change, and there is a cool crisp breeze that blows all of the time. If you don't already know this I live at the edge of the Shenandoah National Park boundaries. The famous "Skyline Drive" is on the next mountain over from my house! We have bear that roam around the neighborhood, and many other kinds of wild-life. My house is surrounded by giant poplar trees that are so tall we can't have Direct TV or Dish Network! Sad, I know. Anyways, I think you get the picture, and as soon as the leaves really start to change I will be posting lots of pictures of the fall foliage around my house!
For this card I used the $1 Fall paper pack I bought at Target. The stamp set is by CTMH and it is called "Fall Splendor". I was thrilled to find that the colors in the paper pack match SU's new in-colors! I guess they really are "in". hehe. The satin ribbon was another super find that I bought at Big Lots, 10 yards for $1. They also had it in Kiwi Kiss, Pale Pink, and Very Vanilla. Today I am having an ingrown toenail on my right foot removed. It has been bugging me for over a year and I want to get it taken care of before it gets really bad. I am not a huge fan of needles so wish me luck. I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!!
