{These Are a Few of my Favorite Things!}

     Cuttlebug embossing folders are most definitely in my top 5 for papercrafting supplies. They add so much to a card, and the folders get better every year! Now I can't continue without giving a shout out to one of  my besties  Rebecha from "I Play With Paper" for letting me now about the newest CB embossing folder release. Thank you sweet friend!
     The cards I made today feature the newest folders from the adorable "Once Upon a Princess" 4 piece Cuttlebug folder set.  I love seeing the embossing folder used on actual cards before I buy them but I couldn't find any online so maybe this will help you decide if you want them or not!
    For the first card I used an adorable butterfly trail embossing folder. I embossed 4 different pieces of DSP, which are all from Stampin' Up!, cut them out, then adhered them to the card using foam squares that I cut in half. The sentiment if from PTI, and the polka dot ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.  I am also entering this card into the weekly challenge at "Flutterby Wednesday". You should play along if you get a chance!

   For the second card I used the super cute layered cake embossing folder. I added Prima flowers in 2 colors to cover the flowers that come already embossed on the folder. I accented the centers with sticky back pearls. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up, as well as the ribbon and card stock.  This week I plan on featuring two more cards from the Once Upon A Princess Set to show you just how cute they are! Yes, I am an enabler.  As always thank you for visiting my blog today and have a wonderful day!

{So Blue...}

Today's card is a card I made for a handful of challenges. I used the new Stampin' Up set "Aviary", and my new Cuttlebug embossing folder from the "Preserves" collection.  I used two different SU scallop punches, a MM button, and ribbon from the Offray ribbon outlet. I miss that place so much! I made the sentiment using my printer, and MS Word. I used a sketch from the Paper Pal Arts Sketchy Challenge,

The color scheme is from the OCC Color Challenge.

I am also playing along with this weeks Flutterby Wednesday Challenge!
I had fun making this card, and I hope that you will play along with these challenges!

{A Card For a Great Cause}

The amazingly talented Cammie is hosting a contest called the "Heart to Heart Card Drive" to benefit the caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's. There is an amazing prize package for one lucky winner and details can be found by clicking on the link above.  For my card today I used the Stampin' Up! set "Fifth Avenue Floral". I stamped the rose three times, and paper pieced a few of the rose petals to give the flower a 3-d effect. I used ink and a blender pen to color the flower. I used the SU Manhattan embossing folder, and the sentiment, which I think is perfect, is a Hero Arts clear set.  I hope that you will join this cause, and get a chance at winning literally one of the bets paper-crafting prize packages I have ever seen! Thank you for visiting my blog today!

{A Couple of Challenges}

Yikes, I can't believe it has been a week since my last post! I have been making cards, but they have been for another card contest. For today's card I am participating in two different challenges, the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge
and the House Mouse and Friends Sketch #78 . For this card I used an adorable House Mouse Image that I colored with Pro-Markers, and Bic Mark-its. The DSP is by BasicGrey, and Cosmo Cricket. I colored white pearls with a brown Pro-Marker, and was so happy with the end result! That little trick works great if you don't have embellies that match the rest of your card! The sentiment is from the Everyday Button Bits set by PTI. And lastly, the flower is by Prima. I hope all of you are having a relaxing weekend so far. As always thank you for visiting my blog today!

{Lazy Day Saturday's}

Today has been a very lazy Saturday. My Hubs had to work, and then had a golf date, so Cam and I have been solo all day. So, I figured a day like this is perfect for card making! That and the fact that it is still HOT outside. The card I made today is from this weeks OCC - Our Creative Corner Saturday Sketch! The stamp I used is from the Stampin' Up! set "A Flower For All Seasons". I used pro markers and bic markers to color it, and you cannot tell from the picture, but I used crystal effects to fill in the leaves and flowers. The DSP is the "June Bug" collection by BasicGrey, and the buttons are to. I used my Janome Sew Mini for all of the stitching, and the fun ribbon is by Cosmo Cricket. I hope you are having a good weekend so far, and as always thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

{Create; Inspiration will find you.}

To "Create", isn't that what card making is all about? I LOVE the sentiment featured on my card today. There are so many ways to be inspired - pictures, colors, the list could go on and on! What inspires you? Well, my inspiration for today's card came from this picture that is the current Moxie Fab World Blog Tuesday Trigger .
I know I always say this but I LOVED working on this card! I knew I wanted my card to feature several different shades of red, and maroon, and I have a ribbon jar full of ribbon scraps that I am so glad I saved! I wanted my card to have lots of color, and texture, and I had the perfect ribbons to achieve the look I was going for. I hand twirled the paper rose (my very first time to try it) and added the SU Sweet Pea stitched leaf. The beautiful shade of red that I used for the card stock base is Stampin' Up! new color "Cherry Cobbler". I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the crumb cake card stock. If you are wondering why I have been posting so many cards lately I am kind of immobile at the moment. I am having major sciatic pain due to my pregnancy and I have a really hard time walking. Thank goodness my Dad had a pair of crutches I could borrow!
Anyways, there is still plenty of time to play along with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger Card Challenge! Thank you for visiting my blog today!

{Just Believe}

This is one of the cards (rejects) that I submitted to the Paper Crafts techniques issue card call a few weeks ago. I admit it hurts the pride when none of your cards are picked, but hey, there is always next time! For this card I used the Stampin' Up! set "Just Believe". I stamped the main image in Chocolate Chip craft ink, and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then sponged the background using three colors, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, and So Saffron. The torn background paper is from BasicGrey, and so are the brads. I hope you are having a good week! And thank you for visiting my blog!

{A Good Day for Cake}

Another weekend is almost over, and this one went by way too quickly! Today has been a quiet but good day. My Fantasy Football team is doing very well today so I am happy about that, and I finished a few more cards for the Paper Crafts magazine submission call due by tomorrow night. I didn't do so great with the last call, but maybe, just maybe I'll get a card picked up this time! Ok, enough chatter and on to my card. For this card I used the Stampin' Up! Level 1 hostess set "Birthday Bakery". I made a very similar card like this one already, but brightened up the colors and added more cakes! I love this fun, cute set! I used the new SU scallop ribbon punch and SU markers to color the image.
As you can see I also gave my blog a little bit of a make-over this weekend! I enjoy tinkering around with the layout, and blog header but this time I think I will be leaving it alone for awhile. As always thank you so much for visiting my blog today and have a great rest of the weekend!

{Kimono Kids}

Good Morning friends! Oh, what a day this has been so far! My Dad had to bring over pair of crutches so that I could get around easier. I am suffering from a terrible case of sciatica which in case you have been lucky enough not to have experienced this it is a pinched nerve on your backside. Yesterday I did way too much so last night, and today have been awful. I think I have finally learned my lesson and I will just have to take it easy. *sigh*
Anyways, enough about me, and on to the card I am posting today! This card was made using the Stampin' Up! set "Kimono Kids" The lanterns and umbrella were stamped, colored, and cut out on a separate piece of paper and then attached using foam dots. The paper is authentic Japanese Washi paper given to me by my sister from her 3 year stay in Japan. It is beautiful! The brads are from BasicGrey. This was a fun card to make, and I am happy with the way it turned out. I LOVE the sentiment! I appreciate your visit to my blog, and I hope you have a wonderful week!

{Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger}

Wow, what a week this has been! I can't believe Friday is already here! For my card today I decided to play along with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger Challenge . The stamp set featured on my card is the Stampin' Up! set "Upsy Daisy". The sentiment is from the PTI set "Everyday Button Bits". The colors I used on my card are all SU, Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight. Beautiful bright, and fun colors, and I think they are they are a perfect match to the colors in the Tuesday Trigger pic! I used my SU Mat Pac, and Crop-a-dile Big Bite to punch the holes in the corner so that the yellow from the layer behind would show thru. And I have to give my cute Hubby credit for giving me that idea. I love it when he critiques, and gives his "advice" on what I should add to the card. So cute. I used my Stampamagig to double stamp the daisy stamp. Once in Pacific Point, and the shadow was stamped with Bashful Blue. I used my Janome Sew Mini to add the straight stitch that is getting better every time I do it! I love the way my card turned out, and if you would like to play along with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger you have until Sunday night to post your card! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and have a Happy, and Safe Labor Day weekend!

{Fall is Getting Closer}

Finally September is here, along with cooler temperatures. August was a lonnnnng month but there is hope now that Summer is finally coming to an end! With Fall getting closer, Halloween is also right around the corner. Now I don't get into the spooks and ghouls part of Halloween, but I do love the fun costumes, pumpkins, and of course, the CANDY! For today's card I used the Stampin' Up! set "The More the Merrier", and for the sentiment "Grateful Greetings". The dsp is from the Target dollar spot, and the ribbon is from Oriental Trading. Speaking of Oriental Trading I just received their Fall catalog and I have to say I am so impressed with the selections of buttons, ribbons, and paper. I am trying hard to resist ordering anything! I hope that cooler temperatures have reached you as well, and I hope you have a wonderful week!
