Prettiest Butterfly
The Stampin' Up! set " Butterfly of Happiness" is hands down my favorite butterfly set of all time. (Well, so far anyways) I have used it so many times, and I know it is a set I will have for many years to come. For this card I used a sketch from the adorable blog Stamping with a Whiff of Joy I used sketch #38
I used Not Quite Navy, Kraft, and Whisper White c/s. I stamped the fancy background image multiple times with a stamp from the Inkadinkado set "Garden Delight". The dotted BG is from the Fall Winter SU hostess DP pack. I used my SU Mat Stack to pierce the holes and then I used Linen thread and an embroidery needle for the stitching. The flowers are also from the "Butterfly of Happiness" set, that I accented with Provo Craft beads. (That took awhile). The main butterfly image is raised with a pop dot. All in all I am very happy with the way this card turned out! I hope that you have a fabulous day!

Sunday Garden Delight!
Wow, a weekend post from me! Quite rare I know but I actually had time to play in my card room this weekend! For this card I used the clear sets by Inkadinkado Garden Delight, and Garden Flower. If you have not tried any of these sets I highly recommend them. They stamp very well and wih a 40% coupon you can get one for under $6. Nothing like saving a little moolah. The colors in the card are Old Olive, and Ridinghood red and I used paper from SU's DP Summer Picnic. I hope that all of you are having a great weekend!

My Secret Project!
As some of your already know my younger sister way down in Sherman Texas is expecting a bundle of joy in September! This is her and her husbands first child and I wanted to send something special to celebrate the happy news. So, this is what I came up with! She and I love Vera Bradley so I bought her a lunch bag to carry snacks and things to work to help with her nausea. I also altered a composition notebook into a pregnancy Journal so that she could keep a daily log of her thoughts and feelings. I included a few fun items and wrote a list of the items, and why I included them in her survival kit. I came up with all of it myself! Here is a close up of the list:
She received it in the mail this week and judging from the tears that were falling during our phone conversation (I made her open it while we were on the phone) I do believe she liked it. I had a super fun time making it for her. Thank you for visiting my blog today and I hope that everyone has a great weekend!

A Happy Heart!
What a day this has been! I have been watching the inauguration all day and although I don't live that far from D.C. I opted for staying home and watching it on TV. It is crazy in DC right now! Thankfully my hubby's office is far enough away from he shouldn't have too much traffic but I will keep my fingers crossed that he makes it home on time. For todays card I used the SU Valentine's Day set "A Happy Heart". The paper is all from SU, and for the first time ever I used my Fiskars embossing plates with my Cuttlebug. It was so easy and made a great impression. I am buying more of those babies! If you would like to know the recipe I used for stacking the CB plates let me know. I hope that all of you are having a great day!

Just Buzzin' By...
Hi! Oh my gosh has it been a week already!? I am sorry that I have not updated my blog for the past week. I have been playing in my craft room, but I have not made any cards since last Friday! I am working on scrapping the pictures of my friends adorable son and that has been taking up most of my free time. There are a few other projects I have been working on as well and next week I promise to show you what I have been doing.
For the card I made today I used my brand spankin' new SU set "Just Buzzin' Bye". I was not planning on ordering any of the new Spring Summer catalog sets that were in the sampler but I just couldn't resist the bumble bees! Aren't they adorable? It is so unbelievably cold here in VA, and I'm pretty sure it is the same for all of you right now. Stay warm my friends and have a wonderful, safe weekend.

Happy Joyful Birthday!
Wow, Friday is already here. Where did the week go? Come to think of it, where did the last year go? lol. I finally understand what my parents meant in response to me wishing I was "13", "Don't wish away your life because time goes by fast enough as it is." They were definitely right about that one. Anyways, for today's card I used an adorable High Hopes image RAK'd to me by me sweet friend Kelly at Crafting Creatively
I colored him using my Prima's and Gamsol. The DP is Cosmo Cricket's "Cogsmo", the perfect paper for boys! I used my Ovals Nestabilities, and SU mat Pack on the paper piercing. The card stock and ribbon are all from SU. We don't have any exciting weekend plans due to the potential ice and snow tomorrow. Have a safe and happy weekend!

A Little Birdie...
What a day! This card took me all day to finish, not because it was all that difficult, but because my little one was a Mr. Fuss Bucket today! Thankfully he is taking a long over due nap right now. Although that means he will be up till 11 but hey, at least I have a couple of hours to myself. Today's cards was from the weekly sketch CPS98 by Card Positioning Systems. This week the Sweet Korin from Sweet and Sassy Stamps is sponsoring the sketch. If you haven't already been there I totally recommend it. She has the cutest stamps! For my card I used the Su set "A Little Birdie", and paper from the DCWV Baby Girl, and Baby Boy stacks. I also used for the first time my new nestabilities, Labels 1! I love them and I know I'll be using them often. I hope that all of you had a good day! Thank you for visiting my blog today!

Dog-gone great!
I have had the Stampin' Up! set "Teacher's Pet" for a few months now and sadly have only used it once or twice. Well, Joanne at http://http//sleepyinseattlestamps.blogspot.com/ inspired me to think of ways to use sets I already that weren't "Valentine sets" to make Valentine cards! Instantly Teacher's Pet came to mind. I think this set is super cute and very versatile. For the sentiment I used my Word Window punch and my Stamp-a-majig to perfectly position the sentiment. I love how this card turned out! I hope you are having better weather then we are today. Thankfully the ice turned to rain but my DH still had to wait till lunchtime to leave because of our slippery driveway!
Supplies:
Stamps - SU Teachers Pet
Ink - SU Choco Chip
Paper, Su Choco Chip, Red Ridinghood Red, Very Vanilla
Embellies - Metalic Flower Brads
Ribbon - SU Wide Chocolate Chip grosgrain, American Crafts
Tools - Cuttlebug Houndstooth Folder, SU Scallop Punch, SU 1 3/4 Circle Punch, SU Word Window Punch, Crop-a-dile

Ice Day!
Well, we did get some ice after all and my hubby decided to play it safe and work from home today. For those of you that may not know this we live right next door (literally) to Shenandoah National park which is home to the beautiful "Skyline Drive". If you ever get the chance to visit I totally recommend visiting this National Park! We always get more snow and ice then anyone else and a few times a winter we get snowed, or iced in. It was nice having dh home on a day he was supposed to be at work. For this card I used a very simple layout, and I used the set from Inkadinkado " Birthday Fun". I embossed the sentiment with glittery red embossing powder and the large eyelets are from my Cropadile set. I have not used that many eyelets in a long time! I had fun with this card, and I already know who I am going to send it to! Have a great day and thanks so much for visiting my blog!

Unforgettable Friends!
I am blessed to have so many "unforgettable friends" in my life. I would be very lonely without my friends, and I just wanna give a shout out to my "sistah's" that read my blog! I love ya! Ok, for this card I used the very cute SU set " Happy Heart Day", and DP from two different companies, DCWV, and SEI. The ribbon is from Big Lots (LOVE that place) that I bought for $1, and the heart shaped brads are from Joann's. The layout is very simple but I love showcasing the stamped image, and the cute DP. I used my Prismacolor pencils to color in the elephant. I enjoyed making this card! I hope that all of you had a good Monday. We might get some snow tomorrow so my Hubby might be working from home, yippie! Stay warm!

I need the sun!
One of the things that I dislike about winter is the sun going down at 5:30. My husband has a long commute and leaves his office at 5:30 but doesn't get home until 6:40. I hate it that he has to drive home in the dark! I also miss the sun staying out later because sometimes I don't get a chance to take a picture of my cards until the evening and I have the hardest time getting a good picture without sunlight. That is what happened with this card! I finished it yesterday afternoon, and tried yesterday evening, and this evening to get a good pic and this is the best I could come up with. Ok, I'll quit complaining and talk about my card! I used Taylor's Cupcake Sketch "TECC49 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 49". This was a fun sketch but I opted to not use cupcakes. I used the Close to my Heart Valentine set "All my love", and the DP is the DCWV "Sweet Stack". This was a fun sketch to do and if you haven't already tried you should! I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend!
