What a tough week this has been. Sadly yesterday we had to say goodbye to our 6 year old Great Dane Amber. She was diagnosed with lymphoma right before Christmas and was given only weeks to live. Well, Amber was a fighter and stayed with us 2 months longer then the vet said she would. Over the weekend she took a big turn for the worst and we had to make the sad decision on Wed. to put Amber down. Yesterday she died peacefully at the vet office surrounded by her family. (me, my DH, and Cam.) We are very sad but know she is not suffering anymore. We will miss her. So, as you can see I have not been in the mood for much of anything this week.
Today I decided to try and get out of my funk and try out the weekly sketch at the Mojo Monday Blog. I finally used the clear set I bought at Michaels last month called "Friendly Forest". It is so cute and I think it would be great for scrapbooking. I used the retired Stampin Up DP "Fall Flowers". I hope that all of you have a great weekend, and hug your pets a little tighter this weekend. They really are so very special.

{A Weekend of High Hopes}
Good Morning! I hope that all of you had a great weekend! I am sad that it is Monday all ready. I spent a lot of time in my card room this weekend working on this card that I submitted to the High Hopes Guest Designer spot! I know the odds are very slim that I will win one of two coveted "Guest Designer Diva" spots but ya can't win it if you aren't in it, right?! For this card I used one of High Hopes adorable dragon images. So cute! And I did not have a sentiment to go along with the image so I used our laser printer to write my own. I think it is perfect! I used DCWV's new "Animal Crackers" stack, and the SU Colors Bashful Blue, and Green Galore. The sketch I used is Katharina's Sketch. We were asked to use this sketch to make the card we wanted to submit to the guest designer call. One of my favorite things about this card is the "reptilian" Fiskars Texture plate that I used on the background. It matches the dragon PERFECTLY! I love my texture plates! I hope that you guys have Happy Mondays and thank you for visiting my blog today!

{Friends are Such a Blessing}
I hope you guys are having a great weekend! Today was a great day because I got to spend time with an adorable boy that I used to baby sit for when he was 1, now he is 3 and such a big boy! His Mother is the dear friend that I made this card for. I have been blessed with so many wonderful friendships throughout my life! I used one of my ALL time favorite Stampin' Up sets "Season of Friendship". Since my friend and I are both SO ready for spring to get here I decided to make this a springtime card. I used the SU colors, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, and Chocolate Chip ink and card stock. I stamped the flowers on whisper white c/s, and then stamped more flowers with Regal Rose ink and cut them out to add the nice 3-D effect. I used SU chocolate chip wide grosgrain ribbon, and my SU scallop punch for the bottom edge. The corners of the stamped image, and the sentiment were paper pierced using my Mat Stack. I have been using that SO much lately! I am happy with the way my card turned out and I hope that it brightened my friends day. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

{The Secret to Happiness}
First I want to start by apologizing to my readers for my long absense. Life has been busy, and I am sure you guys can relate to that. I have been spending a lot of my free time on my scrapbooking side business, re-painting my kitchen and trying to keep up with my 14 month old. I will try my best to post on a much more regular basis and I promise to catch up on posting comments today. Ok, now onto the card I made! For this card is used the brand new DCWV stack "Garden Party". If you have not seen it I totally recommend checking it out at Joann's. I bought the entire stack for only 9.99! The papers are beautiful! This card was simple to make, but I think it turned out beautifully. The only "stamping is the sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set "Edgy Eloquence". I cut out two of the butterflies from the scraps of DP and used 3d foam dots to make them stand out. I used my SU sponge to sponge the edges of the butterfly wings using Chocolate Chip ink. The large choco chip eyelet came with my Cropodile, and the wide grosgrain is also from Stampin Up. I know just who I am going to send this card to and I hope they like it! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

A Honey of a Card
I ordered the Stampin' Up! set " Just Buzzin By" back in January and every since then I have not been able to make a card using the flower stamp in the set that I liked enough to post on my blog. But, last night after sitting at my desk and staring into space for awhile I finally thought of a design for a card using the flower! For this card I used SU's Choco Chip, and So Saffron c/s. I colored the flowers with markers and an aquapainter. And I cut the flowers, and bee out with my trusty cutterbee's. The ribbon is SU's Choco Chip wide grosgrain. Now, for my favorite part of the card....the background! I may be the only person on earth that feels this way but I LOVE Fiskars texture plates! I ordered the Fiskars "Flair" collection off of Joann's this week for 40% off. I received 6 plates with 12 different designs and the adorable honeycomb was included in the set. I think it is the perfect background for the bee set! I used my Cuttlebug and used the following sandwich:
Bottom to Top:
A Plate
Fiskars Plate
Card Stock lightly misted with water
Wizard tan mat
C plate
I have had great success with the plates with this combo.
I am looking forward to the beautiful weather we are going to have this weekend and I hope it is nice wherever you are to! Thank you for visiting my blog today!

Mojo Monday 72 Two Days Late...
There is a commonly used saying, "better late then never" that seems to apply to me a lot these days. I am always late! Well, I actually started this card on Monday, finished yesterday, and I'm posting it today! Not too bad really. Today's card is from the Mojo Monday Sketch Blog that I tried for the first time this week. The card I made features the adorable DP from the newly released DCWV stack "Animal Crackers". You will be seeing more of this paper because I LOVE IT! It is not on sale at Joann's this week but you can use your 40% coupon. Still a good value if you use a lot of paper. The stamps I used are from the Stampin Up sets "Monkey Business", "Bodacious Bouquet", and "So Many Scallops". All three sets are retired but still much loved. I have a hard time letting go of my stamps but I will be posting several sets I am ready to part with so keep an eye out if you are looking for any retired sets! I heat embossed the flower with clear powder for the finishing touch. I enjoyed making this card, and love the fun tropical feel to it. I hope all of you are having a great week so far. Thank you for visiting my blog!

So Much Going On!
I know it has been a week since my last post but my craft room has been a busy place! I finished up a full 12x12 scrapbook that my friend picked up on Friday, and I had to design 4 cards, and write up a proposal for a community card class I would like to hold in mid February. I am VERY excited about that. I uploaded pictures of the cards we will be making. All of the cards use the SU set "A Flower For All Seasons".
The cards are fairly simple but I wanted them to be so that no-one will be scared away by cards that are too complicated. I hope that everyone had a great weekend. We were stuck at home on Saturday because our road was a solid sheet of ice, but thankfully it warmed up on Sunday and we were able to leave the house mid-afternoon. Thank you for visiting my blog and have a wonderful Monday!
