Hello and welcome to my blog! I hope that wherever you are, your day is going well. Today I felt like trying some of the paper and ribbon folds that seem to be all the rage these days. It isn't hard at all, and the great thing about the "shabby" look is that the folds don't have to be perfect. If you have not tried this technique yet I encourage you to give it a try! My card features a rose stamp from Clearly Inspired clear stamps called "Brushed Florals", and a sentiment from the SU set "A Word For You". I used SU Cherry Cobbler as my card base, and Cherry Cobbler, and Old Olive ink for the rose. The DSP is from the BasicGrey "Ambrosia" collection. The stitching around the card was done with the new Hero Arts clear set "Sew Artsy". I think it looks great, and I love that I didn't have to get my sewing machine out! I used a Martha Stewart punch for the black accordion fold, and the ribbon is from Big Lots. Finally I accented the card with Hiedie Swap rhinestones, and BasicGrey buttons. This card is out of my comfort zone, but for the most part I am happy with the way it turned out! Today I am playing along with the following challenges:

Thank you for visiting my blog today!
Can't see why this is out of your comfort zone as it's a first rate and gorgeous card. Love the colour, layout, what you have done with the paper pleating and your stitching is pretty nifty too.

gorgeous card - you can't go wrong with these colors and that ruffled ribbon is such a fun accent. I'll have to try one of those again. :)
