{Vintage Lace}
Another weekend has come and gone and Monday is here once again. *sigh*. So far this Monday is going well and I hope it continues to go that way! My card today is a bit out of my comfort zone, I am more "Cutesy", than "Shabby Chic", but I think it turned out OK. I used the Stampin' Up! set "Butterfly of Happiness". I also used the SU Background stamp " French Script". I used my handy dandy Cricut and SCAL software to cut out the layered shape. I just have to say that I love that I didn't have to buy any metal dies to create this shape. It really is amazing what you can do with a Cricut and SCAL. The DSP is by DCWV. I machine stitched around the layer, and distressed the edges with SU chalk, and my finger. Seriously, I can't find anything that spreads out the color better then that! I created the roses with the EK Success 2" Scallop punch and SU dsp. The used vintage blue and cream colored lace that I found at an estate sale. It smelled "old" when I bought it so I just put a few dryer sheets in with the lace and that took care of the smell. Finally I finished off the card with ribbon, and half pearls. Today I am playing along with a few challenges:
