Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop - Holiday Style

Hello, the next 24 hours are going to be pretty busy here on the ol' blog,  and I am excited to be sharing lots of fun stuff with ya! First I have two cards that I created for the Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop. The challenge this month was to create cards using the beautiful color combos given to us as inspiration. Here is the first combo that jumped out at me:

Here is the card I created using these colors!

To create my card I used the PTI sets "Snowflake Medley", and the beautiful sentiment set "Happiest of Holidays".
I cut the frame out using a cutting file from Lettering Delights, and my KNK Zing.

For my second card I used this color combo:

And here is the card I created using these colors:

I decided to go CAS with my second card. I used the PTI sets "Happy Harlequin", and "Peaceful Pinecone.

Thank you for visiting my blog today and I hope you have a wonderful day!!

  5. Both cards are gorgeous. I struggle with pink for Christmas cards but the amount you've used is absolutely perfect!

And the 2nd card is so simple yet so very elegant. It is not easy to get such a simple card right but you absolutely nailed it. It will have to go in my "my try this" folder.

  7. Both are beautiful! I love how you used the snowflake diecut as part of the focal point on the first card, and I love how you raised up one of the diamonds with foam tape on the second card... such a small detail, but it makes all the difference. :)

  9. I did not care for that (your second) color combo when I saw it on Nichole's blog, but you have changed my opinion. It looks perfect the way you've used it. Popping up the more vivid diamond is a great detail that bring such life to the card.

  11. Beautifully done with both of the combos you used. I love the contrast between the more simple card and the more 'dressy' card. Fantastic job. ;-)

  16. I saw the pink blue as "snowflakes" too - love what you did with yours.

  17. Love the Happy Harlequin card - the colour scheme looks subtle, but very effective. The Snowflake card is really sweet - pink and aqua snowflakes - remind me of cotton candy!!

  19. These are beautiful! I love the frame on the first one, really draws you in to that great sentiment, and I ADORE the CAS style of the second one -- a little bit of texture (I've seen 4 cards I LOVE today that use that impression plate...I MUST get it next time -- I SWORE I didn't need it -- ha ha)and just a few simple elements -- and it's awesome! TFS

  20. Oh, they're both beautiful! I love all the elements of the first one and how they came together - it's just lovely. And I love how you stamped the four diamonds on the second one to include all the colours - such a great way to get a lot of detail but still keep it simple. Love them!
