Hello! Happy World Autism Awareness Day! My name is Veronica Zalis, the host and organizer of today's Stamping For Autism Awareness Blog Hop. As many in the stamping community know I have a 10 year old son with non verbal autism. Today I am THRILLED to be here along with so many of my dear friends, and amazing stamp companies as we help bring Autism Awareness to the stamping community.
My son Cameron was officially diagnosed when he was 5. Up to that age his pediatricians thought he was just a "late talker" and that he had a few "quirks". Cameron doesn't display many of the classic autism characteristics. A day with Cameron is actually not that different from a day with any other kid. He loves Disney, listening to music, and organizing his extensive DVD collection. He doesn't speak but he communicates via smart device and is an extremely advanced typist and speller. I am so very thankful for that. He has no problem letting us know what he is feeling, which 99% of the time is pure joy. We consider ourselves lucky, yes, LUCKY. Cameron has autism, but there are so many that have so many more challenges associated with an Autism diagnosis. Our life isn't always easy but we can't imagine what our lives would be like without him.
“Sometimes it is the people no one can imagine anything of who do the things no one can imagine,” - Alan Turing, creator of the first computer used to break codes during WW II.

Today I am excited to share two cards I created using the Brand New release from Taylored Expressions: "Look With Your Heart". Taylored Expressions is donating 25% of April sales of "Look With Your Heart" to The Autism Society. Amazing!
To create my rainbow puzzle background I used the single puzzle metal die to create a stencil. It was time consuming, but easy! I am thrilled with the end result. I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink to create my bright, rainbow background. The striped ribbon is retired Stampin' Up! ribbon. I save EVERYTHING!
To create this card I used the negative die cut of the Stitched Heart Stax from My Favorite Things. I used three shades of Tim Holtz Blue Distress Oxide Ink. I heat embossed the sentiment using white Stampin' Up embossing powder. I did that before sponging the blue heart. The butterfly is from the MFT Beautiful Butterflies stamp and die set.
I invited a FANTASTIC group of designers and friends to join me today. The cards they created are absolutely amazing. Prizes will be chosen from the comments on this blog, and all of the designers posted below.

WOW The prizes are great and the card is so pretty! Thanks to all involved!
So glad you organized this hop - awareness is key to getting support needed to help with this diagnosis. The beautiful minds and hearts that are inside of a body living with this diagnosis are full of wonder and can contribute so much to our world - with a little understanding.

What a beautiful, cheerful puzzle card with the striped bow. I love how you used the puzzle pieces in the background with the bright colors. You son is so cute. Love that smile!!
I respect & admire you for reminding us Autism effects more than just the children. It effects mom's, dad's, brother's, sister's, & families of so many. BRAVO for speaking up, sharing the story of your handsome son & putting this blog hop together! Your cards are beautiful but not nearly as important as this cause! THANK YOU!!
I was over at Amy's blog and read about the hop. I am so excited!!! my youngest son works at a therapy center that specializes in the helping children on the autism spectrum. I will do my very best to make at least 2 cards so that I can have him share them with the 2 boys that he works with. I know what wonderful work is done at the center where he works in Indiana.
thank you for bringing attention to all who have this disorder and their families.
I have a nephew in his mid 20s with autism. I enjoy being around him. He has a unique perspective on things.

This is really amazing and once again shows how great this paper crafting community is!!!
what a great cause. I love that we can make cards for all occasions and that some companies have actually designed stamps for this awareness.
Love this hop! What a great cause to rally around! Beautiful card, and beautiful sentiment!
I totally understand where you are coming from. I have an adult daughter who is cognitively impaired, hearing impaired and ADHD. I deal with many of the same behaviors that commonly go with Autism such as mood swings, OCD, anxiety, low frustration tolerance and the like. For those out there who do not know someone with a disability please acknowledge people you see with differences. My daughter LOVES to talk to people at stores and for the most part people are very receptive. However, there are still people that look the other way or ignore my girl when she is trying to engage them in conversation. Please remember to be kind first. They may not have filters and therefore ask very personal questions which is there way of getting to know you. Thanks for being a light for your cause. Hugs to you and your son (but only if he likes them! :D)
What a fabulous way to spread awareness of autism! Thanks for putting this all together and your very inspirational projects!
Thank you so much for hosting such a worthy cause.
WOW! Here is why I am awestruck..and have a big smile on my face---What a wonderful crafting community we have and the impact that we can make together. I am so proud! Veronica and all the sponsors- THANK YOU!
A wonderful cause and such generous sponsors too
Both cards are delightful
Beautiful cards, thank you for bringing awareness to Autism.
Such an amazing blog hop and I love your story. Beautiful card and thanks for sharing such a great inspiration.
Your son looks a beautiful and happy boy with great people who love and support him. I'm glad you are making people aware of Autism as there are a lot of people who don't know about it. So thank you and thank you to the wonderful sponsors that have come out to support you in this Autism Awareness and endeavour. Also your cards are fantastic 😃
SO happy to see this blog hop to support awareness of Autism!! I used to work for the Gray Center which was founded by Carol Gray, author of Social Stories. Unfortunately being a non-profit and totally reliant on donations, The Gray Center did not survive. It makes me feel so good to know that the work is still moving forward when I see efforts for awareness like this blog hop...thank you SO much!! :0)
Obviously the autism cause is one that is near and dear to many hearts. An effort like yours raises awareness.
What amazing support you are getting for autism! Thank you for all your efforts to organize this hop with so many great prizes. God bless your family!
It's about time we have this amazing hop. I work at an elementary school and I have many friends that are the most amazing people. Thank you for thinking of them.
Veronica, thank you so much for allowing me to take part in this worthy cause. Everywhere I look today, I see gorgeous projects created by our crafting community in order to bring awareness to Austism! I love your cards and I'm so very proud of all the work you've put into this hop! Your cards are gorgeous!!!
Wow! Great to have such support for a wonderful cause. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Thank you for this. Blog Hop Autism is a million unique stories under one label. It is hard to watch the struggle when seemingly ordinary things are difficult for an autistic child, but also a joy to see them wrapped up in other things that are impossible for the ordinary to see.
What a wonderfully supportive online crafting community! This cause is so near and dear to my heart and so often unseen! Thank you for putting this blog hop together and for the wonderful companies that are also showing their support! I have truly enjoyed the hop and cannot wait to show my son. We both love coloring when he is focused to do so. It has given me many sweet memories!
What a wonderful way to raise awareness for this much misunderstood condition. Good luck to everyone and I will make something blue today as it's also my favourite colour x
Thank you so much to you and all those participating in this hop for Autism Awareness! I have a nephew with autism and this hop warms my heart💙
It is so inspiring to feel the support of so many. We have so much to learn about autism.
Wow! Thank you for putting this together and thanks to all thw wonderful sponsors! Amazing.
Bless you for organizing this blog hop. My son didn't start talking until he was 3. Back then we didn't know what autism spectrum was. The more awareness we can bring, the more help we can give parents and children.
I never knew their was a site for Autism. My youngest daughter has Aspergers Syndrome. We had to fight the public school for them to give her time to do her work. Needles to say if they didn't see something wrong on the outside then there was nothing wrong with her! So wrong. She's going to be 27 on her birthday and we love her so much. So I am glad you are doing a blog hop for special needs. Thanks for the cards and have a wonderful week.
I taught art in the public schools for 30 years, now retired. I had all kinds of kids with their own view of the world, and for various reasons. The kids who had the more obvious situations were always the most loving, it is as if their disability allowed for more time to love. It is a most beautiful way to live, connected to one's heart. These precious human beings have things to teach all of us. Look with your heart says it all.
Thank you for this uplifting event. Brenda Foreman -- new to stamping thanks to Jennifer McGuire Ink!
Beautiful cause and so amazed to see all these talented people come together to celebrate and raise awareness. Your card is gorgeous!
Beautiful card ~ nice to meet Cameron :)
This is such a great way to get the word out there! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the chance to win all the great prizes.
I am teaching the 4/5 years kids to and I have two autistic boys in the class. They are such sweeties. Thank you for creating this autism awareness to all the crafters!
WOW! The cards are adorable! I love the puzzle pieces. I do know several children with autism, as my daughter has cognitive delays. We have a super school with a great support group. Our Special Olympics Unified group is amazing! The students are amazing that work with “our” kids. So we are very fortunate in that respect. I think what you are doing with this blog hop is so important and very impressive at the response of it. Kudos to you, my friend! Great job, and I’d like to thank all the companies that stepped up to the plate as well. God bless all of you!
Bless you. Such an important cause.
Thank you for spreading the word about autism. My grandson, age 4, was diagnosed little over a year ago. There is so much they can do these days in education. Our school district has an amazing program and he has gained so much since starting preschool.
Wow--incredible the support you got from all those designers & companies--love it! Your cards are beautiful, but the sentiment on the first one brought tears to my eyes. Isn't that so true for life--not just in regards to autism. Your son sounds like an incredible kid--thank you for sharing Cameron today!
I hope that everyone commenting here takes to heart the message about autism So many don't realize how neat these people are even with this condition.
Veronica, your cards are awesome but even more importantly...YOU ARE AWESOME! What an amazing way to educate more folks on such an important subject.
I love your cards. Thank You for doing a blog hop for Autism. And thank you to all the sponsors who donated so generously. Blog hops like this make me smile. :)
I love this!
What cute cards and what a great cause! I have a nephew with autism so I am aware of the challenges some of the face. I'm also a home care nurse of children with special needs and some of the kiddos have other needs also with autism that I experience regularly. A big hands up to everyone bringing a awareness to these kids!
What extraordinary good and light you are bringing to the world today! Thank you for making this such a powerful statement for those who cannot always speak for themselves.
A huge thank you to Veroniza for organizing this! I had such an amazingly wonderful time looking at each project and making notes to try and make something similar. Thank you for all the generous sponsors who have donated items to thos who participated. Addtitionally, thank you to those that linked other blogs that participated but may have not been in the main lineup!! There was so much creativity and support that it brings tears to my eyes. I have wanted to make cards for support. It is therapy for me, but it is just hard to go out and give them out when someone else is having a hard time or your own son is having a difficult time. but I promise to give out more cards to friends on play dates. If it brings me joy just looking at the cards, I can only imagine the joy of receiving it during a frustrating time. Hands down, the best Blog hop ever! It even had mermaids, the beach and unicorns!!! :)
So wonderful that your son is such a blessing to you - he is certainly with a loving family ! Thank you for your inspiration and for sharing your talent with all of us!
What a great way to bring awareness!
Love the cards, too!
This brought tears to my eyes. I will spend the day going through each blog. I too have an autistic (non verbal) son. Alas he is not a typing pro and communication is very tough but he amazes me every day and has taught me so much more about life than I ever thought there was. Thank you so much for organizing this and thank you to all the stamp companies that so readily joined into such an amazing cause.
This is a wonderful Idea and you are a very loving and talented lady!! Thanks for putting this together.
Our young son has autism and art is an amazing communication tool and therapy for him. I am so touched by your blog hop, thank you! Your art is beautiful!
Fantastic blog hop and a great way to bring awareness. My daughter is a Social Worker who specializes with children with autism. I am so impressed to see all the companies that have come together for this very important cause.
Love your cards.
Beautiful cards and such an amazing way to raise awareness. And such an amazing response from so many sponsors.
Wow - you've put a lot of work into this effort! It's so worthwhile! And your card is so bright and colorful - thanks for the tips on blending the colors!
This is awesome......proof that kindness wins every.single.time! Thank you for taking the time for sharing your story and putting this together. from @just.be.creative.everyday Dana N.
This is a wonderful, fun way to raise awareness for autism. Thank You!
Such a fun card to raise awareness for this special cause. This is near and dear to me since my son is on the spectrum, also! My husband and I were just saying yesterday how lucky and blessed we are to have our son. He has taught me more than I could ever learn elsewhere!
beautiful cards and so thankful you are bringing awareness to our community. It's wonderful to see all of the companies that have donated.

Thank you for raising awareness of this often overlooked condition. Your efforts are much appreciated and your cards are beautiful!
What a great idea! My 11 year old has autism- some days I can forget & others I cannot help but be reminded constantly! He is a gift-either day though. He has a big heart & I love him.thank you for doing this! Blessings on you & your son.
Great job at spearheading this hop, Vee! I am so honored to take part on this. Love ya!
What an amazing blog hop. Thank you for organizing this a bringing awareness to autism.
Thank you for all that you've done to help spread such a wonderful message of love, understanding, and acceptance. Each of your cards are amazing, but not nearly as amazing as the heart of their creator. You are such an inspiration!
What a beautiful stamp set, blog hop and there must be a lot of dust in the air today because my eyes are leaking a bit. Well done, everyone!
What an incredibly sweet and amazing blog hop to put together to bring awareness! This has touched our family (my niece is on the spectrum with Asperger's syndrome and is such a joy to us! My daughter now teachers Special Education in Early Childhood and is my unsung hero ♥ Off to hop - big hugs to you!
Your two cards are amazing ! I love the bright colors of the puzzle card and a rainbow is always a happy idea. But my favorite card is your butterfly card : I'm a "blue person" so it's logical (even if rainbow are another passion of mine).
Thank you to all the generous persons who gave some gifts or time for this fantastic blog hop !
What a great blog hop, and such an important issue to raise awareness of. I know several children and adults on the autism spectrum and every one of them is unique.
Such a great cause! Your cards are wonderful.
We appreciate all of your efforts in putting together this amazing blog hop!!! And to the companies & designers who joined you, a huge Thank You! This is an amazing community to be a part of, and that humbles me. Your cards are wonderful!
I love this initiative! After homeschooling my 5 children for 27 yrs, I took a job as an EA/TA to a 7yr old boy who was on the autism spectrum. He also had FASD. I was with him for 3 years and LOVED it all! Thank you for bringing forward, more awareness of the awesomeness of these kids.
What a wonderful event! Thank you for taking the lead to celebrate autism and bring more understanding to us all.
What a fantastic way to spread awareness, I have only had an understanding about autism within the last 5 years when a fabulous family came into our lives and introduced us to their beautiful son, before I totally misunderstood what autism was. So any attempt to heighten the awareness is great, thank you for sharing your charming son and creative talents with us!
Thank you for organizing such an inspiring hop to raise awareness. Your cards are so lovely, with great color and wonderful sentiments.
What a terrific idea. Stampers are some of the most generous people I know, especially when they're contributing to such a great cause, like autism. Thanks to you and all the other generous people who are working for autism.
Cameron is absolutely adorable and truly radiates JOY; what a blessing he must be!! Thank you for putting the hop together; the creations are amazing!!
What amazing cards you made and the cause is totally worth it. Tfs
Beautiful cards-blessings
T
I would like to say how much I appreciate that you have organized this. My son is 12 and he has Aspergers syndrome. He also has aggressive ADHD and it was hard to get the autism diagnosis and therefore to get it treated. This is a wonderful way to raise awareness.
God bless you for shining a light on this issue. Our grandson is high functioning and struggles with acceptance because he does not look like what is expected. Thank you for supporting this cause.
Awesome blog hop for Autism awareness and I love the puzzle pieces with this sentiment, and all your cards are beautiful!
Your cards are awesome and I love your light bulb photo prop! Two of our grandchildren adopted from Bulgaria are non-verbal with autism. Fun to read your son can type! God bless you and thanks for a chance to win!
Fabulous cards and a fabulous hop! I have an autistic daughter, now 35 with twin babies of her own. She is high functioning but we struggled during her childhood years. I wouldn't change a thing. We;ve learned so much. Thanks for the hop and the important idea of getting autism awareness!
I don't personally know anyone with autism, yet I'm pleased to participate in this blog hop and to share my card! I believe it can represent a parent with an autistic child, gazing together at the stars and encouraging that child to always shine bright! Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this! :)
This is an awesome thing to do and wonderful cards for a so worthy cause. Thank you for doing this and sharing your talent. the sponsers are wonderful for providing the prizes.
I was so happy to see this hop! I got my bachelors in special ed, and have worked with many children who have autism. I was happy to hear that your son can communicate with you through a device! I am so grateful for all the technology that makes that possible!
Wonderful!! And beautiful cards!
Such gorgeous cards and such a worthy cause!
Beautiful cards and such a good cause, thank you for your support!
What a BEAUTIFUL HOP! Our son has ADHD & Aspergers--he is 26 now. Even for the kids on the higher end of the Autism spectrum, things are difficult. They needn't be if people are LOVING & KIND & ACCEPTING of these children/adults. So nice to see this awareness being done in the paper crafting world! One kind word to anyone, can make a world of difference! ;)
Such sweet cards and amazing blog hop to support autism awareness!
What a great initiative. My 14 year old has just been diagnosed with Asperger so I'm doing all I can to learn more about Autism for myself and for my son. Certainly doesn't change how I feel about him, he's awesome!
Both of your cards are lovely! What a wonderful blog hop :)
What a great thing - increasing awareness of Autism. My niece has autism and I also have a close friend who has an autistic child. Both are so innocent and untainted by life's experiences. They make you smile. I am in constant awe of how their families deal daily with the challenges and in both, how the siblings love, care for and protect their autistic sibling. For those who look and truly see, they will see and experience the bright side of autism.
Thanks for bringing awareness of this special diagnosed disorder. I to have a special daughter with autism life can be very challenging she is 25 and there are daily challenges. But life would not be the same without her in our family. She is highly intelligent but chronically inflexible and very much difficult dealing with social interactions. I do crafting to help me deal with all the challenges that come with dealing with autism. I love the stamps made for this awareness so fitting. Autism comes with many tears as there are so many people who are not aware of what parents go through. Many times your judged and criticized by even your very own family regarding your dealing with an autistic child.
So even my daughter is almost 26 and extended family make life difficult they expect my daughter to be doing things other 26 year olds do well it still brings me to tears doing all as a single mother.
Have a blessed day!
Kimberly
What an awesome blog hop! I have a nephew with autism & I am in the mental health field working with adults with various diagnoses. My individuals are my heart❣️& each one is so very special in his/her own way. My life would not be complete without them!
It is so wonderful to see so many participants for such a good cause. Wonderful cards; thanks for sharing!
Thank you for having this blog hop to bring autism awareness. I have a 17 year old son with PDDnos. Your cards are Amazing! I really love the blue card. Very beautiful.
I love your card and that sweet little homily from the Cat in the Hat. Thanks for shining a light on something so important to many of us.
Gorgeous cards for a great cause! Love it all!
Love the rainbow of colors on the puzzle card and the beautiful blue heart and butterfly on the second. Thanks for raising awareness and sharing about your son.
Wow I can not thank you enough for putting this all together!! I am new to card making and I wish I knew sooner!! I have 2 boys and they both have autism. One is non verbal. I am so grateful for this hop. It's so amazing how many companies offered to help you with this! That warms my heart! Great job Veronica
your cards are lovely - thanks for raising awareness :)
Thank you for organizing this wonderful hop! As a long-time teacher, my life has been blessed many times with the opportunity to teach students with autism. I've come away richer because of them! My brother's family was here for Easter, and I shared your post with my just-turned-8 niece. She was intrigued about the hop and I was intrigued by how much she knows about autism. She decided to make a card and I'll be posting it to your gallery soon. I'm proud of creativity and, especially, of her compassion and understanding.
~carol
This is an amazing blog hop for a really worthwhile cause! I am enjoying all the beautiful cards, what great talent. Bless you for being such a great advocate for your child!
What a talented group of people supporting such a worthwhile cause. Your cards are beautiful. Good for you for advocating for your child!!
This is SUCH an important and amazing blog hop you have organized! I am absolutely blown away by the enthusiasm around Autism for this blog hop and I'm so so happy you're spreading so much awareness <3
What a great blog hop. It will spread so much awareness about autism. I have some family members and friends that are on the spectrum and it's so misunderstood. There are so many different degrees, symptoms and signs that people don't understand.
Thanks for organizing this hop, great job! Thanks for the chances to win some awesome prizes too.
Thank you for organizing this! My grandson is on the spectrum and me days are challenging - all are rewarding but not enough people understand! Love your card too!
As the mother of a verbal child with autism, thank you for bringing together two very active communities for a wonderful cause. Every day presents a challenge but like your son Cameron, my son Christopher is just like most other children. He makes me smile all the time. I love the puzzle pieces card.
This is fantastic. Anything that increases awareness and support is special. My niece has a 3 1/2 year old that is on the autism spectrum. She is non verbal but therapy is working wonders. Today she smiled at me when I said hello!
Thank you for this hop!
What a great blog hop to come home to after a very “Monday” Monday! Love your rainbow puzzle card.
What a wonderful way to bring awareness. I love the cards toy made and the stamp set is pretty great !, thanks for getting this going.
I am always blown away by the kindness and generosity of the stamping community! This is truly an amazing way to raise awareness for Autism. Thank you for all the hard work and love that you have put into this Blog Hop!
Brilliant cards you've made with an amazing stamp set. As both a teacher to both adults and children with many special needs and a mum with a son who spent many of his early years angry, upset ,misunderstood but the most loving unique person I'm thanking you so much for raising awareness and breaking down the stigma.
That's a fabulous blog hop!!! My son is 4 and also on the spectrum. Instead of a card, can i share an art journal page?
This is such an awesome cause! Fabulous cards! Love the puzzle pie card! Off to hop! Thanks for organizing this!
Great cards for a great cause!

Another mama with a beautiful 30yo son with Autism and a 28yo daughter that teaches Special Ed with a true passion! So very proud of them both, and grateful to you getting this blog hop going! Sporting my blue today, and have my front porch blue bulbs glowing!
Thanks for doing this blog hop! I am lucky to have an 11 year old high functioning autistic son. I love the Taylored Expressions stamp set, I think it would be great for making cards for his special education teacher!
What terrific cards you've made, very colorful and eye-catching) and for a very deserving cause! It's terrific that you've organized this blog hop and that so many companies are support the hop!
OMG!!!! SO much to see! I love your card! That set of word stamps is so perfect for this.
Wonderful cards and great way to get others involved in autism awareness.
Thank you for sharing your and your son's story. As the godmother of a high functioning autistic 11 year old boy, we are so blessed to have these children in our lives. I'm getting that beautiful Taylored Expression stamp set for his mother- who's my favorite crafting buddy!
What a wonderful cause! The first time I heard about autism, my young cousin had just been diagnosed. He is now 41 years old and living in a group home. It's been a difficult road for my aunt and uncle (and other cousins, when they lived at home with him). I wish that there had been more awareness of autism when he was young.
Thank you for organizing this hop - and thanks to your generous sponsors too. <3
This is so wonderful! I'm a speech therapist in a school with two classrooms for students with Autism, so this is so near and dear to my heart 💙💙
The majority of my career was working with autistic children and adults. I love this population as they are so misunderstood. God bless you for this hop.
My sister has two sons with autism. I have seen first hand the struggles she has gone through to make sure her children have the help they need! Thank you for increasing awareness about autism and giving a voice and face to this condition....and sharing great cards and prizes in the process!
I’m so overwhelmed by the generosity of so many wonderful companies! I shouldn’t be so surprised. Crafters have hearts twice the size of others and it blesses us to lift the spirits of others:) Raising a child with autism can be so isolating, so seeing all these beautiful cards and reading the comments have made me brave enough to leave a comment:) I have a 5 year old grandson with Autism. He lives with us so we get to have fun all day. We stamp and work on holding our pencils... (fine motor skills) BUT we die cut images every day! Aidan chooses the die and the card colors and I help him roll them through. Seriously, we cut Halloween images for 5 months straight! I couldn’t put them away! He loved sorting them into piles by color or lining them up till we had cut 20. He’s tucked dies in his pocket, and built houses for them out of blocks! See.... there’s another thing you can do with dies! Lol! I ADORE this little man and nothing is off limits in “Goompma’s” craft room! Not even the pretty papers!
Thank you so much for the smiles!
What a great way to promote Autism in the community!
