{To a Wild Rose}

   

 Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am happy to show you a card made with the stamp set "Wild Rose" by A Muse Studios. I have wanted this set from the very first time I looked at the catalog! I sponged the rose with Shell, and Cherry pigment inks. This is my favorite way to use the A Muse pigment inks. The inks blend so beautifully. LOVE them. I cut two stamped roses out and attached them to the card with foam dots. I stamped the wrought iron border stamp using "Slate" ink. I did not have any A Muse light pink ribbon yet so I cut off a length of taffeta ribbon and sponged it with Shell pigment ink. Oh my goodness I am SO happy with the result. Now I will always have matchy ribbon! The pretty butterflies are also from A Muse. I included all 3 sizes in my picture so you could get an idea of how big/small they are. These are my first butterfly metal dies and I am so happy I waited to get them. They are 8.95 for all three sizes  and compared to the other butterfly dies available I think that is a great price. I accented my butterflies with sparky rhinestones. I am extremely happy with the way my card turned out and I am already thinking of my next card using this set! {A Sheltering Tree and Blog Candy Winners}

    Ahh, Friday is finally here, what a long week this has been! Today I will be picking the winners of my bakers twine blog candy, and my A Muse Studios blog candy with the help of random.org. But first let me tell you about the card I created today! Everything I used to make this card is from A Muse Studios except for the bakers twine and the cloudy sky patterned paper. I started by stamping the tree on two colors of card stock that I cut out. I did the same thing with the kite only I used A Muse gingham card stock. I stamped the sun (a marigold stamp) on the patterned paper, and again on white card stock and punched it out with a 1 1/2 circle punch. I used a pop dot to adhere it to the patterned paper. I cut the grass out using my Cricut, and SCAL software and then sponged it with A Muse pigment ink in Lichen, and Grass. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE A Muse Ink?? I attached the tree using foam dots, and then stamped the sentiment on the same sky patterned paper and adhered it to the card. I added some  A Muse stitched ribbon and bakers twine to finish off the card. This card makes me happy! Now lets pick out a couple of winners! {Pretty Pink Buttons}

Happy Monday and welcome to my blog! I hope this Monday is treating you well. So far it has been a great day here with my boys.  Today my card features a "Go-To" sketch from Paper Crafts Magazine that is a perfect way to use buttons! If you are anything like me you probably have tons of buttons. I used to be bad about hoarding my favorite embellishments but lately I have been using them a lot more and have found it to be liberating. Try it, you'll see what I mean! Ok now back to the card, the stamps I used are from Unity Stamp Co "Just a Note" and they are a part of the Itty Bitty line by Jillibean Soup. The patterned paper I used is the Echo Park "Springtime" collection. I stamped the polkadot label in SU Melon Mambo, and the sentiment in SU Espresso. The cute stitched ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. I finished off the card with a machine stitched border. Today I am playing along with a few challenges:

Good morning and welcome to another week at Cupcake Inspirations! This weeks inspiration picture is beautiful, and oh so yummy:

My card for the challenge this week features a stamp set from Stampin' Up! called "Garden Whimsey".  I used A•Muse Studio pigment inks to achieve the pretty dual tone color on the tulip blossoms. I stamped them three times on the paper, and then twice on another sheet of card stock. I cut two of them out with paper snips and added attached them with foam dots. The patterned paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Material Girl collection. {Simply Create Challenge #40}

Good Evening! I was one of the lucky few chosen to be on the Simply Create Challenge Blog design team! Super fun!!   Our challenge this week was to try something new. My something new was using a digital background stamp, and using a line of rhinestones. For my card I used a digital "Friends Definition" digital background stamp from Hero Arts. The background stamp is from A*Muse stamped in Blackberry Ink. I used the SU ribbon scallop punch on black, and crumb cake card stock and then layered them. I stamped the floral image and cut it out and used foam dots to add dimension.  I finished off the card with ribbon (it matches much better in person) a line of rhinestones and machine stitching. {Sweet Sunny Sunday}

Good morning friends! I hope that you have been enjoying your weekend. Today at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge  we are celebrating spring with a beautiful, sunny yellow, cupcake inspiration picture!

 This week Cupcake Inspirations is being sponsored by Heather Ellis creator of the adorable "Pure Innocence" images.  This was my first time to use one of her images, and I know I will be using them again because they are so darn cute, and fun to color!

For my card I used DSP from the SU Brights paper pack and from the Jillybean Soup Mustard collection. I colored the image with Copics, and Promarkers. I love these images because they are perfect for paper piecing! I finished off the card with stitching, a polka dot flower and my favorite new embellishment, bakers twine. The sentiment is from A *Muse | Studios.  I hope that you will play along with us at Cupcake Inspirations this week!

{Sweet Friends}

 Good Afternoon! I am really enjoying the beautiful spring weather we are having today, and I hope you are to! Today my card features a very sweet image from Pink Petticoat  that happens to be one of my favorite digi image shops! This stamp and sentiment set is called "Sweet Treats". I colored the image with Pro-Markers, Copics, and Bic-Markits. Love having all that color! The patterned paper is from the Echo Park "Springtime" collection, and the SU Brights patterns pack. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the lacey border, and machine stitched the edges to add a little texture. I added a bakers twine bow,  and a little bit of bling next to the sentiment. And finally I used Glassy Glaze and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds to add more sparkly goodness to my card. Today I am playing along with several challenges!

{Super Exciting Day!}

 

Today I am excited for two different reasons, I have been added to the Paper Crafts Magazine Designer Blog Roll!!!  How fun is that? I really can't believe my name is listed with so many amazing paper craft celebrities! Neato! Ok, secondly I am trying for a spot as a guest designer at Pink Cat Studios for the St.  Patties Day release. I love PCS images and would be thrilled to be a part of the team, even if its just for one day! So naturally my card above features a PCS image called "Hopping Bunnies". Those cuties make me smile every time I look at them! I colored the bunnies with pro-markers. The kraft patterned paper with colorful polka-dots is from the new collection "Chilled Strawberry" by Jillibean Soup. The yellow, and pink dsp is from the Stampin' Up! "Brights" collection. What can I say, I love polka-dots! I made the cute foam flowers with foam I bought yesterday from Dollar Tree, and I used Cuttlebug flower dies to cut them out. I love, love making foam flowers!

{Spring is Just Around the Corner}

It is a beautiful sunny morning here in Southeast Oklahoma. I hope the sun is shining in your part of the world today! Spring arrives early in this part of the USA, there are fruit trees, and daffodils blooming here and there. So, in honor of my second favorite time of year (fall takes the #1 spot) I decided to create a "spring theme" card today! I am happy to say that this card came together quickly. My card features a pretty dogwood branch from the Stampin' Up! set "Soft Summer".

 I colored the image with SU classic ink, and blender pens. The patterned paper is from the "Lace and Linen" DCWV stack. I machine stitched around the card, and accented the corners with  a  blossom I picked up at Michael's this weekend. I added a button tied with bakers twine. Speaking of twine I have been using it like crazy, like many others right now. I am thinking about offering a blog candy that could possibly involve a pretty selection of bakers twine in several colors. Stay tuned this week so ya don't miss out! {Sweet Sunday}

 Wow, two posts in one day can you believe it? Well, I just had to play along with a couple of challenges so while Cam and Connor napped today I was able to finish a card! My card features a berry sweet image of cakes from the Stampin' Up! set "Birthday Bakery". The sentiment is from Impression Obsession. I used velvet ribbon by Cosmo Cricket, and my new favorite embellishment bakers twine from The Twinery.   I used dsp from KI Memories that matched my inspiration picture perfectly! Well, this weeks challenge at "Raise the Bar" is to  create a card inspired by your favorite cartoon character , and of course I had to pick Strawberry Shortcake! Most of you don't know this but I once had an entire room dedicated to vintage Strawberry Shortcake and her friends. Fun huh? Anyways I think my card reflects the sweetness of SSC and I really enjoyed creating it! The second challenge is the Paper Pal Arts weekly challenge which happens to be a sketch this week. This was the perfect sketch to go along with my SSC inspired card.  I am also playing along with the weekly challenge from "Wee Memories - Source of Inspiration" . {Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #99}

 Good Sunday morning and welcome to  the Cupcake Inspirations Weekly Challenge! Our challenge this week is being sponsored by Prairie Fairy . If you have not been to visit their website you really should, they have some of the cutest images.  Here is the inspiration picture for this weeks challenge, isn't it a beauty?

My card looks more purpley then blue, but the colors are more blue in real life.  I colored the image with blender pen and SU classic ink. I also machine stitched around the first layer. To achieve the "glittery" look I used Glimmer paint in Champagne Mist. I LOVE the way it turned out! I used a Spellbinders die for the pretty diecut shape.  If you get a chance you should play along this week.  We would love to see what you create! I am also playing along with these challenges:

{True Friends}

Happy Valentine's Day friends and visitors! I hope this has been a sweet day for you. Today I created a card using the Stampin' Up! set "True Friend". I used the SU colors Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Whisper White. These colors happen to be the color challenge for this week at "The Paper Players Challenge #34. Don't they look fantastic together!?  I am also playing along with the sketch challenge at "Skipping Stones Design Challenge #63".  This was a great sketch to work with. I finished off the card with a BasicGrey button, and Offray ribbon tied with  yummy twine I just received from the Twinery! Speaking of twine there is a great Product Challenge #6 at DeNami Designs featuring twine! If you have twine you should definitely play along!

{A Honey of a Day}

Another weekend came and went. I hope this week goes by as quickly as last week! For today's card I used the Stampin' Up! set " Just Buzzin' By". This is such a cute set that hasn't seen the light of day for awhile now so I'm happy I decided to use it today! Everything I used to make this card is from SU except for the button that is by Cosmo Cricket. I am playing along with two challenges, the first being a color challenge from the talented  folks at The Paper Players . The challenge was to use  a  monochromatic color scheme. I chose shades of yellow for my card! The other challenge I am playing along with is the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #17. Here is the sketch:
