Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - Creativity Takes Courage

 It has been awhile since I played along with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger, and the picture Cath picked out was calling my name so I had to play along! Here is the trigger:

I drew inspiration for my card from the color, and shapes of the trigger. And you can't get much more Victorian then a beautiful old quilt.

   I finally got to play with my new quilt dies from Wplus9. They are SO much fun to use, and a lot easier then I was expecting. (hooray!) The patterned paper came from an old DCWV pad that I have been holding onto for a few years. The sentiment, which I love, came from a brand new stamp set from Unity Stamp Co called "Empowered Words". {Together Forever and Happy Mail}

   Hello and welcome to my little paper crafting world! Today has been a great day, I had two projects picked up for the Paper Crafts Magazine Jan/Feb 2012 issue. I am so excited! It's such a thrill to receive an email from Paper Crafts magazine and if you have never submitted to any of the calls I highly recommend it. You never know until you try! Anywho, about my card. I used a set from A Muse Studio called "Together Forever". This set is perfect for wedding, and anniversary cards! The patterned paper is from the Lemon Flower stack by DCWV. I stamped the cake and sentiment in A Muse Studio "slate" pigment ink. I added pretty ribbon from Hobby Lobby, and a button tied with sugar twine from also from A Muse Studio. {All Things Grow With Love}

I can't tell you how good it feels to be settled! I finished painting the interior walls that I wanted to re-paint, and I have been getting our pictures and paintings up on the walls. It really is feeling like home. I am still working on the walls of my scrap-room, but I promise to post pictures when I am done! Now on to today's card. This summer inspired card was made using the MFT (My Favorite Things) stamp set " Grow Love, Plant a Tree". The tree stamps in the set are so cute! I started out by stamping the tree, and several of the leaves. I then colored them with Copic markers, and used foam dots to stick them on the tree trunk. I also stamped the paper with the leaves and colored those as well. I love the 3-d effect. The paper is from DCWV, and I used my "Sew Mini" to add the stitching. The sentiment is from the PTI set "Everyday Button Bits" and I think it goes so well with the MFT set. I tied a small bow using SU twine, and the brads are from Karen Foster. {Babies All Around!}

Well, I have been busy making baby cards lately because two dear friends have new baby boys! Hopefully they are too busy to check my blog and they won't see this card but I just HAD to post it! This card was made using DP from the DCWV Baby Boy stack. I am so glad that I bought 2 12x12's of this one. It is one of my all time favorite's and it will be a sad sad day when I finally run out. I used my Janome Sew Mini to stitch all of the blocks together to make the background look like a baby quilt. Yes, it did take a while. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!, and the Giraffe is a clear set by "Recollections". I embossed the white ruffle with a Cuttlebug folder, and used my Fiskars Threading water border punch. {Fun With Buttons}

Good afternoon! We have been battling colds this week but thankfully we are all on the mend. Being sick is for the birds! LOL Anyways, this is a card I have been working on for days now and today I finally finished! This set features a super cute Turtle with matching sentiment by Inkadinkado. I used my SU Markers and Bics to color the turtle, and the light blue circle was made using a circle stencil and SU pastels. The DP is from DCWV, and I used my Janome to sew around the outside square. I thought it would be fun to add the buttons flower, and the stem, and leaf I hand cut from a piece of green felt. I did the stitching by hand as well. Crafty eh? I am really loving the felt embellies that are popular right now! A Few Cards!

For this card I used the clear set by Stampendous called "Flutterfly Friends". This set is adorable! I used my Bics to color the butterfly, and the DP is from an old DCWV stack I have had for a few years. For the flower, and the flower center I used my Cricut! I love being able to incorporate both stamping, and die-cuts on my cards. The sentiments are from the SU set "On a Pedestal". This was a fun card to make!

This card features the SU set " On a Pedestal". This is one of my favorite sets out of the new catalog! Again I used DCWV paper (my favorite DP in case you haven't noticed) There layers were made using my SU Top Note Die, and my Cricut. I paper pieced the cake, yeah, it was a lot of cutting but I love how it turned out!

This card was made using the SU set "Manhattan Flower", and the matching Texture Plate. I stamped the main flower in Staz-On and used my Aqua Painters to color it in. I love the soft look of water-coloring. The paper is the new SU In-Color "Bermuda Bay", and SU Kraft. I accented the card with SU Linen Thread, and little rhinestones.

I hope all of you are having a great weekend! Today we drove out to our favorite Apple orchard and Bakery and I had a fresh apple turnover. Yum!!

Time Goes By Way Too Fast!

Good Afternoon! I hope you had a nice Easter weekend! We had a cookout at the home of our dear friends the "Allen's" and it was one of the most enjoyable Easter Sunday's we have had in a long time. I am so thankful for my friends!

For today's card I used the new Stampin' Up! set "Forest Friends". This set can be purchased from the Spring/Summer Mini. Isn't it cute?! The DP is from the "Garden Party" stack by DCWV. I used my new toy the Janome Sew Mini and I am loving it so much! If you don't have one you REALLY need to buy one! I hand cut the grass, and adhered the deer with a pop dot to make it stand out. {Friends

This winter seems to be lasting FOREVER and I don't know about you guys, but I don't remember ever wanting Spring to get here as fast as possible as I do this year. We have not gotten loads of snow, but it has been so darn cold. Thankfully this weekend is supposed to be WONderful and I am super duper excited! For todays card I used Dp from the DCWV Sweet stack. I also used the Labels 1 nestability that I cut in half (almost) and the stamps are Paper Trey's special edition set "Simple Little Things", and SU's "Make it Count". This card was not made off of any specific sketch or card. I usually make cards from my own mind (a scary place) but don't get me wrong sketches are a great way to let someone else take care of the layout so that you can spend more time with the color's and embellies, which for me are the funnest part of card making! I would probably get a lot more cards made if I used sketches more often. hehe The colors in my card are Baja Blue, Kraft, and GP White. {A Weekend of High Hopes}

Good Morning! I hope that all of you had a great weekend! I am sad that it is Monday all ready. I spent a lot of time in my card room this weekend working on this card that I submitted to the High Hopes Guest Designer spot! I know the odds are very slim that I will win one of two coveted "Guest Designer Diva" spots but ya can't win it if you aren't in it, right?! For this card I used one of High Hopes adorable dragon images. So cute! And I did not have a sentiment to go along with the image so I used our laser printer to write my own. I think it is perfect! I used DCWV's new "Animal Crackers" stack, and the SU Colors Bashful Blue, and Green Galore. The sketch I used is Katharina's Sketch. We were asked to use this sketch to make the card we wanted to submit to the guest designer call. One of my favorite things about this card is the "reptilian" Fiskars Texture plate that I used on the background. It matches the dragon PERFECTLY! I love my texture plates! {The Secret to Happiness}

First I want to start by apologizing to my readers for my long absense. Life has been busy, and I am sure you guys can relate to that. I have been spending a lot of my free time on my scrapbooking side business, re-painting my kitchen and trying to keep up with my 14 month old. I will try my best to post on a much more regular basis and I promise to catch up on posting comments today. Ok, now onto the card I made! For this card is used the brand new DCWV stack "Garden Party". If you have not seen it I totally recommend checking it out at Joann's. I bought the entire stack for only 9.99! The papers are beautiful! This card was simple to make, but I think it turned out beautifully. The only "stamping is the sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set "Edgy Eloquence". I cut out two of the butterflies from the scraps of DP and used 3d foam dots to make them stand out. I used my SU sponge to sponge the edges of the butterfly wings using Chocolate Chip ink. The large choco chip eyelet came with my Cropodile, and the wide grosgrain is also from Stampin Up. I know just who I am going to send this card to and I hope they like it! An Elephino!

Strange Blog title right? Well, when I was younger my Mom told us a joke that went: What do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhinoceros? Give up? An Elephino! I know it is super corny, but it gave me a chuckle thinking about it. Anyways, if you are still reading thank you for sticking it out. For this card I used an adorable image and sentiment from High Hopes stamps that my sweet friend Kelly RAK'd me. I used my Prisma Color Pencils and Gamasol to color him in. I had to add a little pink to his ears and cheeks to give him a little personality. The DP is from the DCWV Sweet Stack. The solid color Card stock is SU's Regal Rose, and Certainly Celery. I also used SU Rose grosgrain ribbon for the bow. I also used the Cuttlebug Embossing folders Swiss Dots, and Houndstooth. The layout is this weeks sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.
