{A Spooktacular Halloween}

First let me say I think this is one of the cutest Halloween images I have ever seen! Secondly, this card is an especially special card because it is the FIRST digital stamp I have ever purchased, and used! This adorable image is by "Pink Cat Studios".  The DSP is "June Bug" by BasicGrey. I printed the image on Very Vanilla card stock with my laser printer, and colored using Prismacolor pencils, and OMS. (oderless mineral spirits) The sentiment is from the SU set "Greetings Galore, and the ribbon is a roll I picked up at the Offray Ribbon Outlet.  I machine stitched around the layers, and the card base is SU Crumb Cake. I am playing along with a few challenges today first Cupcake Inspirations. Here is this weeks inspiration picture:

{Lazy Day Saturday's}

Today has been a very lazy Saturday. My Hubs had to work, and then had a golf date, so Cam and I have been solo all day. So, I figured a day like this is perfect for card making! That and the fact that it is still HOT outside. The card I made today is from this weeks OCC - Our Creative Corner Saturday Sketch! The stamp I used is from the Stampin' Up! set "A Flower For All Seasons". I used pro markers and bic markers to color it, and you cannot tell from the picture, but I used crystal effects to fill in the leaves and flowers. The DSP is the "June Bug" collection by BasicGrey, and the buttons are to. I used my Janome Sew Mini for all of the stitching, and the fun ribbon is by Cosmo Cricket. {All Things Grow With Love}

I can't tell you how good it feels to be settled! I finished painting the interior walls that I wanted to re-paint, and I have been getting our pictures and paintings up on the walls. It really is feeling like home. I am still working on the walls of my scrap-room, but I promise to post pictures when I am done! Now on to today's card. This summer inspired card was made using the MFT (My Favorite Things) stamp set " Grow Love, Plant a Tree". The tree stamps in the set are so cute! I started out by stamping the tree, and several of the leaves. I then colored them with Copic markers, and used foam dots to stick them on the tree trunk. I also stamped the paper with the leaves and colored those as well. I love the 3-d effect. The paper is from DCWV, and I used my "Sew Mini" to add the stitching. The sentiment is from the PTI set "Everyday Button Bits" and I think it goes so well with the MFT set. I tied a small bow using SU twine, and the brads are from Karen Foster. Lace and Blog Candy!!!

My next door neighbor had an estate auction two weeks ago, and there was quite a lot left over,

My Dad and I went over to the house and I spotted a huge box of vintage lace in beautiful condition. I asked how much he wanted for it and he gave it to me for free! I was thrilled, and finally got around to going thru it today. As you can see from the card I made today I incorporated some of the lace into my card! I have never used lace on a card, and I love what it adds to a card! I used an older Sarah Kay image I have had for awhile, and colored it with Bic Mark-its, and my SU markers. The DSP is by Cosmo Cricket and it is called "Material Girl". I also used the matching buttons that go along with the dsp collection. I used my Janome to sew around the edges, and the lace scallop was hand made by me! Now for the fun part, because I have SO much lace, and I know I will never use it all I am offering up BLOG CANDY to share my lace with YOU!

Cute Card Thursday #106

Whew, what a busy day! We spent the afternoon at "The Dogwood Festival", Cam is napping, Joe is playing golf, and I have some free time! For today's card I used a beautiful stamp from "Anita's" that took awhile to color using my aqua painter and Stampin Up inks, but wow, it is so pretty! I love the vintage feel of the Easter themed image. The DSP is from last years Sellabration that I have oodles of, and the flowers are felt flowers by Zva Creative. I accented the flowers in the stamped image with Crystal effects, and I used my Janome Sew Mini for the stitching. The sentiment is from the SU set " Well Scripted". {Spring Upsy Daisy}

I could not ask for a more beautiful day then what we have here in Southeast Oklahoma today! I wish it could be like this every day of the year! Since the sun is shining I was inspired to create this springy card using the Stampin' Up! set "Upsy Daisy". I love how easy it is to create a beautiful card using this set! The main image was embossed with white powder, and a quick tip when you heat emboss, aim the heat gun on the opposite side that you embossed, and the image will be glossier. It works, it really does! The DSP is "Material Girl" by Cosmo Cricket. I used the SU Scallop Trim Border Punch, and my Janome for the stitching. I used a folder from my Cuttlebug "Romance" collection for the elegant embossing on the top of the card. I am very happy with the way this card turned out! ICSketches #59- Happy Together!

Good Morning! Today I am posting a card I made using the challenge sketch from ICSketches #59 . I have noticed so many sketch challenge blogs and thought ya know, maybe I am missing out so I will be trying my hand at them now to! For this card I used the adorable Stampin' Up! set "Happy Together". This set was one of my freebies from "SaleABration". It is so cute! The DSP is also from SU, and features the current in-color Melon Mambo. The super cute Felt Flower I used is the "Sweet Pea" felt flower and leaves collection that can be purchased in the current Spring mini. If you have not yet gotten your hands on these I HIGHLY recommend doing that before the Spring Mini is over. The card stock is SU's textured Choclate Chip, and Kraft, and I used my handy dandy Janome Sew Mini to add the stitching. The ribbon is a spool I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I had fun making this card, and using my SU set for the first time. Thanks to Inspiration Card Sketches for this super fun sketch and challenge!

Lovin' The Sunshine

Today has been the perfect spring day! Yesterday it was cold, wet, and snowing with no accumulation to speak of, but cold nonetheless! What is going on with the weather this year? Oh yeah, global warming. lol Anyways, since it was bright and sunny, and Cam is finally feeling better I was inspired to play with my new stamps today and this is what I came up with! The set I used today is by Papertrey Ink (PTI) and it is called "Everyday Button Bits" I have loved this set since I first started seeing cards made with it, and I know I will be going back to it over and over again. I used Stampin' Up! Real Red Card stock, and ink, and the cherry stem was stamped in SU Green Galore. I'm not crazy about Green Galore, and wish we had a better shade of green but, it works. The DSP is from the SU Hostess pack from a few years ago. And I used my Janome to sew around the square. The white square was made using my Labels 1 Nestabilities. This was a fun, and easy card to make, and after my last card that took me a few days it was nice to make something more simple, that didn't take so long. I guess I don't really have a particular style, or brand of card making I can do easy, and I can do several layers. I think it is a good thing if you can do both. I'm Back with a (late) OCC Challenge!!

We got back home from our week long trip to Corpus Christi Texas on Saturday. It was so nice there, and truthfully I had no idea that the gulf coast was so beautiful! I hope to go there again this summer and maybe we will do some beach camping. (I have always wanted to do that) Anyways, I started the card I am posting today before we left, and finally finished it yesterday. It was from the OCC March 6 Challenge. I have had a sick little munchkin since we got home from Tx, so I have not had much time for anything else. I used a WishRak image that I received featuring an adorable High Hopes Bunny Rabbit! I used my Prisma's and OMS to color him. The DSP is by K and Co, and was stitched with my little Janome sew mini. I layered felt flowers, and used an Embossing folder from Stampin Up. The ribbon is also SU. I love this cute card!

Two weeks ago I was super lucky enough to win this blog candy from the Paper Crafts Magazine Blog and I got that package on Monday! I can't wait to play with my new stamps! Lazy Saturday Afternoon

I am sitting here with the cool breeze blowing enjoying this beautiful spring day and I hope you are enjoying this day as well! I LOVE this time of year when everything starts to green up, and the spring flowers start blooming, and that is where the inspiration came from for the card I am posting today! I am in the process of un-mounting most of my retired Stampin' Up! stamp sets and have found that I am reaching for them more often now that they are easier to use! That being said I dusted off my retired SU set "Butterfly of Happiness" and inked up for the first time in a lonnnnng time. I used SU More Mustard to stamp the sentiment, and the Butterfly is clear embossed with clear powder, and SU More Mustard Craft ink. The butterfly DP is from KI Memories and the other odds and ends were just embellies that I had on hand. The layered card stock that my sentiment is stamped on was made using my Cricut, and SCAL software. LOVE my SCAL program. =0) The pearls I used on my card today were a gift from Rebecha (Garagesale Diva). Thanks my friend! I hope that all of you have had a great Saturday! {Fun With Buttons}

Good afternoon! We have been battling colds this week but thankfully we are all on the mend. Being sick is for the birds! LOL Anyways, this is a card I have been working on for days now and today I finally finished! This set features a super cute Turtle with matching sentiment by Inkadinkado. I used my SU Markers and Bics to color the turtle, and the light blue circle was made using a circle stencil and SU pastels. The DP is from DCWV, and I used my Janome to sew around the outside square. I thought it would be fun to add the buttons flower, and the stem, and leaf I hand cut from a piece of green felt. I did the stitching by hand as well. Crafty eh? I am really loving the felt embellies that are popular right now! {L is for Love}

You may not believe this, but I am terrible when it comes to making cards for my sweet husband! Now he is one of my biggest card making fans, and always gives me his opinion when I show him a card. So with that in mind it makes me sad that I don't usually make him cards for special occasions. Well my friends, this year things will be different. This is the card I am giving him for Valentine's Day! I used one of the new "Romance" Cuttlebug folders, and I sponged it with Champagne glimmer paint. The floral stamp is a clear set by "Clearly Inspired", and the "love" sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set "Grateful Greetings". I used my Janome Sew Mini to accent the border with stitching and finished off the card with small pieces of folded black ribbon.

A Great Day For Card Making!

The sky is gray, the trees are bare, and there is a slight nip in the air! This is perfect weather for staying inside to play in my scrap room! For the card I made today I used a Holiday set by Inkadinkado called "Christmas Characters". Aren't the polar bears adorable!? I used one of my snowflake Cuttlebug Folders and used heat embossing for the silver snowflake trail, and the scarf and hat on the bears. I stitched around the square with my Janome, and accented the corners with silver brads. White, Navy Blue, and Silver has to be one of my favorite Holiday card color combos! Now onto the card I made today! This card features a beautiful die-cut dragonfly that is sparkly but the camera didn't pick up the shimmer. I used my SU scallop punch on the edges, and the sentiment is the new SU Modern Label punch. My poor word window punch is going to be taking a back seat to the Modern Label Punch! I love the extra little sumthin' that it adds to the sentiment. I accented it with MM brads. I used Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss, and Pink Pirouette card stock. The embossed image is a Cuttlebug folder, and the stitching was done with my Janome Sew Mini. For some reason I have run out of "thank-you" cards so you may be seeing a lot of them in the next few weeks. I hope all of you are enjoying this beautiful Monday!

{Welcome Baby Samantha!} *No peeking LeAnn*

Two of the dearest people in my life are expecting, and as you can already tell from the title of my post have had Baby Girls. One of my closest life long friends LeAnn and her hubby just welcomed Baby Samantha this week. So, I bought a baby themed clear acrylic stamp set by Hampton Art at Michaels on Tuesday so I could make welcome baby cards. This set is so cute and I know I will use it a ton. The DP is from Paper Trey, and the card stock is SU Cameo Coral. I used my Janome Sew mini to create the "quilted block" effect. I stamped the baby bundle on the DP so that I could paper piece it to add dimension and color to the stamped image. I am so happy with the way this card turned out and can't wait to send it to LeAnn! {Stampin' It Up - Ol' School}

I recently bought several retired Stamp Sets off of Craigslist for a GREAT price (Thanks Jessica!) and the cards I am featuring today were made from two of the sets! The first card was made with the Stampin Up set " Weather or Not". I used my Martha Stewart dew drop ink pads and individually inked up each umbrella.

It took awhile, but I love the colorful end result! The background was the CB Swiss Dots folder, and I used my Janome Sew Mini for the stitching. I accented the card with colorful buttons! I've been on a button kick lately, hehe. All in all I am pleased with how the card turned out!

This is the second card I made using my "new" Stamp sets, and it features the SU set "Garden Collage". I used the SU Background set "Fine Lace" that I stamped in Close to Cocoa ink. I love the texture that it added to the card. The flower and butterfly were colored with ink and my aqua painter, and then I used Ranger Crackle Accents to add a neat "cracked glass" look to the flower and butterfly.

{When Life Gives You a Rainy Day!}

How can you not smile when you look at this adorable image from High Hopes stamps? They have so many adorable images that are perfect for coloring! For this card I used new DP that I picked up from the Target dollar spot yesterday. I know I have said this so many times before but it is tough to beat the awesome deals you can find in the Target dollar spot! I used Bic Markits and SU Markers to color the image. I love Bic Markers and until I win the lottery and could afford to buy all of the Copic markers these will work just fine. The buttons are from the Wal-Mart craft section. If you have not checked out the bags of buttons from Wal-Mart you should because you can get a nice sized package for only 1.84. I love them! The inside of the card has the second part of the sentiment that says " Remember to play in the puddles" Anywho, I hope you have a great day and thank you for visiting my blog today!

{A Great Day}

I have had such a nice day today! Nothing terribly exciting happened, Cam and I ran errands, had lunch and all that fun stuff. I guess the best thing about today is that Cam has been in a happy laughing mood so that makes any day a great day! I love seeing and hearing my little one laugh.

For today's card I used a set I bought at Target last week on clearance. I LOVE shopping the clearance endcaps at Target, good stuff! I also used my newest Stampin Up arrival, the Top Note die. I have to admit I resisted buying it for quite sometime but I have seen so many cute cards and projects that I just had to have it! I used the SU colors "Red Ridinghood Red, and More Mustard. I used my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder and of course I had to use my Janome Sew Mini to sew around the outside layer. I hope that all of you are having a great week so far. Time Goes By Way Too Fast!

Good Afternoon! I hope you had a nice Easter weekend! We had a cookout at the home of our dear friends the "Allen's" and it was one of the most enjoyable Easter Sunday's we have had in a long time. I am so thankful for my friends!

For today's card I used the new Stampin' Up! set "Forest Friends". This set can be purchased from the Spring/Summer Mini. Isn't it cute?! The DP is from the "Garden Party" stack by DCWV. I used my new toy the Janome Sew Mini and I am loving it so much! If you don't have one you REALLY need to buy one! I hand cut the grass, and adhered the deer with a pop dot to make it stand out. Happy Un-Birthday to Me..

I am so excited today! Yesterday my dear sweet Husband stopped by Hancock Fabrics and picked up something I have wanted for a long time....a Janome Sew Mini sewing machine! They were on-sale for 39.99 and I just couldn't resist any longer. It was great not having to worry about shipping. It was a little intimidating trying to get the bobbin and machine threaded but I eventually figured it out thanks to Gina K's amazing tutorial on her website. For my card today I used a layout I have used before because I have always wanted to see what it would look like with stitching added. I am in LOVE! It was "sew" easy...lol. I used Stampin' Up DP from SAB, and the sentiment is from the retired SU set "Cuddles and Tickles". The baby was stamped using the "All in the Family " set and colored with Bic Markers. I am sure my sewing will get better, but I am quite proud of myself for this being my very first card using a sewing machine!
