{I {heart} Jane Austen}

feb1-3

Hello! Today I am posting a card for this weeks CAS-ual Friday Challenge using this sketch:

I can't resist a sketch challenge, although I wish I had more time to play along with challenges. My days have been going by so fast! Onto business. =0) I have a new favorite stamp set "Simply Jane" by PTI. I am a huge Jane Austen fan and this stamp set is right up my alley! To create my card I cut out a simple heart shape, and using the heart "negative" as a stencil I sponged the heart shape onto my card base using Cherry, and Shell pigment ink from A Muse Studio. The ink is very wet and smudges VERY easily but it looks so pretty. I used three of the Simply Jane die cuts on my card, the large frame, Mr. Darcey, and Elizabeth. Aren't they cute! I cut out a scroll frame for the sentiment, embossed it and finished off my card with stitching, ruffly ribbon and a button. This card is not my usual style, but I did enjoy making it and that's the most important thing, right?  I hope that you have a wonderful week and as always thank you for visiting my blog!

{For Cath (sans CHA) with Love Blog Hop}

      Hello friends! Today I have the pleasure of  joining along on a Blog Hop for the queen of all things Moxie Fab, Cath Edvalson. Cath is unable to attend CHA because of a painful injury.  So Lorena Canto and Virginia Lu had the wonderful idea to have a blog hop to cheer up Cath. So lets get this party started!

    My card features two brand new PTI sets Mat Stack 5 Collection, and the "Thank You" stamp set that PTI so generously included free of charge with my order last week! I stamped the Mat Stack label using Turquoise Gem by Versamagic. Such a beautiful color! The scrolls, and sentiment were stamped in Fresh Ink's - Chocolate pigment ink. (love) The ultra textured background is Core'dinations card stock. Every time I use this on a card I always think to myself, "I need to use this more often." I love Cor'dinations and they have some new kraft Core'dinations coming out that I am so adding to my paper stash! I distressed the wood grain with my SU sanding block,  cut the panel into 3 layers and added machine stitching around all of the edges. I assembled and fussy cut a few pieces, and finally finished the card off with button and white taffeta ribbon from SU.  I tell ya it was nice making a card for fun, and for a great cause.

Cath, thank YOU for all you do to inspire us, and I hope and pray that your shoulder and arm start feeling better ASAP. Hugs!

{I'd Cross An Ocean For You!}

whaleredo

  Good Morning friends! Today I am here to show you a card that was published in this months issue of Paper Crafts Magazine! My card was picked for the "Cure For The Winter Blues" section of this months issue.  I am extremely excited to report that I have cards in the next 4 issues as well!!!  When I first started stamping my dream was to be published and be on a stamp companies design team some day, and so far both have come true. I truly can't believe how much I have accomplished in the world of Paper crafting. I seriously want to thank you for believing in me and for your support as I continue my paper crafting journey. I know that sounds kind of corny, but I mean it!  Anyways, enough of that, lol.  To create this card I used DSP from Stampin Up's Brights Stack, and PTI's "Whale Wishes" stamp set.  A very simple, cute card!  I hope you have a wonderful Monday!!

{Super Exciting Day!}

Today I am excited for two different reasons, I have been added to the Paper Crafts Magazine Designer Blog Roll!!!  How fun is that? I really can't believe my name is listed with so many amazing paper craft celebrities! Neato! Ok, secondly I am trying for a spot as a guest designer at Pink Cat Studios for the St.  Patties Day release. I love PCS images and would be thrilled to be a part of the team, even if its just for one day! So naturally my card above features a PCS image called "Hopping Bunnies". Those cuties make me smile every time I look at them! I colored the bunnies with pro-markers. The kraft patterned paper with colorful polka-dots is from the new collection "Chilled Strawberry" by Jillibean Soup. The yellow, and pink dsp is from the Stampin' Up! "Brights" collection. What can I say, I love polka-dots! I made the cute foam flowers with foam I bought yesterday from Dollar Tree, and I used Cuttlebug flower dies to cut them out. I love, love making foam flowers!

Here are two of my favorite Pink Cat Studio cards that I have made!

Today I am playing along with a few challenges:

{Perfect Fall Day}

Staying inside on a cool Rainy Day is perfect for card-making! Today is one of those days so I thought I would play along with this weeks Etsy Inspired Challenge. The Etsy shop being featured this week is "Capturing Creativity". This is the card I chose from the shop as my inspiration:

Since I still had it on my desk from my last card I used the SU set "Season of Friendship" to stamp the leaves and tree. I stamped the leaves in two colors, Wild Wasabi, and Kiwi Kiss and added threaded button "apples" to the tree. The fence was made cutting strips of Choco Chip cardstock that I ran through my Cuttlebug, and then I trimmed the corners using the ticket corner punch. The sentiment is from the PTI "Everyday Button Bits" set.  I loved playing along with this challenge, and I hope you get a chance to play along to! Thank you for visiting my blog today!

{Three Cheers For Friday!}

Wow, Friday is already here! This week really did fly by!  I think for me that is mostly because I am feeling better this week, and my mobility has improved  a lot. If you don't already know this I am 29 weeks pregnant, and have had very painful sciatica in both hips and legs since  Labor Day weekend. It stinks, but I'm learning to deal with it.  The end is in site! Now, onto my card. For today's card I used the adorable PTI set "Everyday Button Bits". I love this set so much! Buttons are one of the craft supplies I can't seem to get enough of, so it's great to have a stamp set devoted to the use of buttons! I am also playing along with the "Paper Pal Arts Weekly Challenge" asking for the use of buttons, on a C.A.S.  (clean and simple) card. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend, the weather is going to be fab here so I am really looking forward to it! Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and have a wonderful day!

{All Things Grow With Love}

I can't tell you how good it feels to be settled! I finished painting the interior walls that I wanted to re-paint, and I have been getting our pictures and paintings up on the walls. It really is feeling like home. I am still working on the walls of my scrap-room, but I promise to post pictures when I am done! Now on to today's card. This summer inspired card was made using the MFT (My Favorite Things) stamp set " Grow Love, Plant a Tree". The tree stamps in the set are so cute! I started out by stamping the tree, and several of the leaves. I then colored them with Copic markers, and used foam dots to stick them on the tree trunk. I also stamped the paper with the leaves and colored those as well. I love the 3-d effect. The paper is from DCWV, and I used my "Sew Mini" to add the stitching. The sentiment is from the PTI set "Everyday Button Bits" and I think it goes so well with the MFT set. I tied a small bow using SU twine, and the brads are from Karen Foster. I hope that you are having a great week! Thank you for visiting my blog today!

Every Day is a Gift!

Such true words, every day truly is a gift! I love this adorable High Hopes image of a basket of kittens! For this card I used SU Baja Blue, and DSP from the super cute Cosmo Cricket line "Material Girl". The cute ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, and the epoxy brad is from SU. I colored the image with a set of new "Pro-Markers" I recently was lucky enough to win! These markers are so nice, and like Copic and Bic Markits they are alcohol based. The sentiment is from the PTI set "Everyday Bits".
Now for the winner of my Button Blog Candy. I used mytexttools.com random number picker to pick the winner, and the winner is......

Tracey !!!

Tracey, please email me at cardsbyronnie@yahoo.com with your address and I will get the buttons out to ya! Thank you everyone for playing along, and I will have another fun candy in the next week or two so keep an eye out.

A Week of Buttons and Blog Candy!

Wow, what a week and I mean that in the best way possible! I found out on Friday that one of my cards is going to be published in the Paper Crafts "Holiday Cards and More Vol.5" magazine that comes out Sep. 14th. I could not stop jumping up and down, and still get butterflies in my tummy when I think about it!

Anyways, as you read from my blog post title, this week, I am going to post cards made with buttons! I have been on a crazy button kick lately, and just can't get enough colors, shapes, and sizes! For today's card I used the super cute set by PTI called "Everyday Buttons". I used SU Kiwi Kiss classic ink, and SU Choco Chip ink to stamp the sentiment. The ribbon was from Big Lots that I got for $1, (LOVE that place) and the patterned paper is by Provo Craft and it is linen paper. I love the soft look of it, and how it looks like the sky! The cute striped epoxy brad is from SU.

Since I am having such a great week and because I have plenty, I am going to share some of my buttons with 1 lucky blog reader!
