{Sweet Sweet Summer}

Is this not one of the "sweetest" images you have ever seen!? Sometimes when I am working on a card things just seem to fall into place. I colored this adorable High Hopes image months ago using Copics, and Promarkers but didn't make it into a card until yesterday. My paper hoarding problem finally payed off and I actually had paper with watermelons on it! The DSP is by KI Memories. Love thier paper. And the super cute watermelon ribbon is by Offray ribbon. If you ever happen to be in the Hagerstown Maryland area you MUST stop by the Offray Ribbon outlet. Ribbon paradise! I stitched the squares, and layered my SU word window punch for the sentiment which is from PTI. I love the way this card turned out! {It's a Boy!}

For those of you that may not know this we found that we are going to have another boy! Oh my goodness two boys! We are thrilled that Cam will have a little brother, and Daddy couldn't be any happier. In honor of this happy news I made a baby boy card to show you today! The stamp set I used is "Bundled in Love" by Stampin' Up, and the super cute DSP is also by SU. To achieve the patch work quilt effect to glued several 3/4 inch strips to a 4.25x5.50 piece of paper and then ran it through my Cuttlebug using the SU Top Note Die. This is a great way to use up old scraps. The sentiment was spritzed with Shimmer Mist, and the edges distressed with Baja Breeze Ink. The embossing folder I used is by Sizzex. {Spiro-riffic Flowers}

Ahh, back after a crazy week of cleaning the house, and getting ready for company this past weekend! My "mojo" seems to be on summer vacation so I decided to play along with the "Mojo Monday Sketch 148" This was a really fun sketch and I loved working with the circles and squares. The stamp set featured on my card is the clear set "Spiro Garden" by Technique Tuesday. The DSP is from the Green at Heart paper pad by BasicGrey. The card stock colors are all SU; Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Kiwi Kiss, Naturals, and Crumb Cake (Kraft). I used my Janome Sew mini to add the stitching that goes all the way around the card, and hand stitched the x's using white embroidery thread. I don't usually stamp bright colors on kraft, but I really like the look it gave to the card. Anywho, I hope you have a great week and thank you for visiting my blog!

Out of the Box...

Good-Afternoon friends! I hope that things are going well for you this week. Here in Oklahoma the weather has been un-seasonably cool, cool as in upper 80's, but that is 10 degrees less then the norm so no complaints here! I have been busy re-organizing my scraproom because I just was not happy with the layout, but now, I am LOVIN' my space! Happy Days! For todays card I thought I would try using non-bright colors. I know that 99% of my cards are bright, and very colorful, but today I decided to try something different. So, using Stampin' Up's Creamy Caramel, Choco Chip, and Close to Cocoa, I created this classic looking card. The stamp set is a free set I received from the Paper Crafts Magazine blog called "Margaret". It really isn'y my style, and this is the first time I used it! But, I love the vintage feel to the card. The card itself is pretty much self explanatory, I stamped the background using multi inks, and stamps, then distressed it using the Tim Holtz distress ink "Antique Linen". I stamped the bird cage, cut it out, and used pop dots for the 3-d effect. I finished off the card with black brads from SU. All in all I like the way it turned out, and I love how my pic turned out since I used my newly created light box! I found easy peasy instructions by using E-How. If you don't have one of these to take pictures of your creations I totally recommend it. It is nice to be able to take a pic anytime of the day! {All Things Grow With Love}

I can't tell you how good it feels to be settled! I finished painting the interior walls that I wanted to re-paint, and I have been getting our pictures and paintings up on the walls. It really is feeling like home. I am still working on the walls of my scrap-room, but I promise to post pictures when I am done! Now on to today's card. This summer inspired card was made using the MFT (My Favorite Things) stamp set " Grow Love, Plant a Tree". The tree stamps in the set are so cute! I started out by stamping the tree, and several of the leaves. I then colored them with Copic markers, and used foam dots to stick them on the tree trunk. I also stamped the paper with the leaves and colored those as well. I love the 3-d effect. The paper is from DCWV, and I used my "Sew Mini" to add the stitching. The sentiment is from the PTI set "Everyday Button Bits" and I think it goes so well with the MFT set. I tied a small bow using SU twine, and the brads are from Karen Foster. Baby Steps...

Wow, wow what a crazy past few months I have had! I am 16 weeks along in my pregnancy and my morning sickness has pretty much gone away. We moved into a house were we have plenty of room, and are very happy for our lives to finally be getting back to normal. This entire past year has been a difficult one for us but we made it through and things are going well. We drove from Oklahoma, to Virginia to finish getting the rest of our belongings out of our house there, and I have been unpacking, painting, and just getting our house put back together. I set up my craft room 2 days ago and this card is my first creation in our new house! I love this room, and have a lot more space then I did before. Thank you to all of you for your patience, and I really am sorry for my lack of posting, but life was just too crazy, and I never feel like making cards when I have morning sickness! The same thing happened with Cameron. lol Anyways, for today's card I used the Stampin' Up! set "Upsy Daisey" that I stamped in Melon Mambo, and Pink Pirouette. I am so happy that both of these colors made it into the new SU color scheme! I used my Stampamajig to shadow the lighter shade of pink. I love the subtle effect of the contrasting shades of pink! I hope all of you are doing well, and having a great summer. I hope to get back to much more regular posting, and commenting now that life is getting back to normal. Such true words, every day truly is a gift! I love this adorable High Hopes image of a basket of kittens! For this card I used SU Baja Blue, and DSP from the super cute Cosmo Cricket line "Material Girl". The cute ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, and the epoxy brad is from SU. I colored the image with a set of new "Pro-Markers" I recently was lucky enough to win! These markers are so nice, and like Copic and Bic Markits they are alcohol based. The sentiment is from the PTI set "Everyday Bits".

I'm Still Here, I Promise!

Yikes, I am so sorry for my absence from the blogging world! I owe a few emails, and have other stuff to get caught up on but now that I am feeling better I will be able to do that finally. Now for the news..... I am almost 8 weeks pregnant, and morning (all day) sickness has reared its ugly head for the past 2 weeks. I had it with my 1st child, but this time it has been terrible! So much so that I caved and called my OB and begged for some meds to help with the symptoms. I just couldn't function, and was in bed or getting sick all day, every day. I feel much better now thankfully. I still need to pick a the winner of my Buttons Blog Giveaway, and will have that posted later today (hopefully) And now for a card....

This card was made using an adorable stamp from "Inky Antics", isn't it just the cutest thing?! I colored him with bic markers and prisma pencils and OMS. The DSP is by DCWV, and the card stock is SU's Wild Wasabi, and Pumpkin Pie. Love the bright fun colors of this card! I used Crystal Effects to make the balloon pop and the pretty pink ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. I hope that you are having a great week and thank you for visiting my blog!

Sunflowers Make Me Happy

Spring is here, and with Spring comes all of the flowers! My Dad loves working in the yard, and planting flowers, and that has rubbed off onto his kids as well! I love flowers and can't wait to plant a few myself. My card today features a flower that always makes me smile. Maybe it's the golden yellow, or the size of the flower, but whatever it is the sunflower is just a cheerful flower! I cut out my sunflower using SCAL, My Cricut Expression and a file I found online. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up clear mount set "Whimsical Words". I used two different border punches, the scallop punch from SU, and an EK Success punch that I have never used on a card before. It reminds me of swiss cheese, but I LOVE the way it looks on my card! The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, and the Button by Making Memories. I used my SU chalks to chalk the edges of the sunflower petals. I think it gives the flower definition.

A Week of Buttons and Blog Candy!

Wow, what a week and I mean that in the best way possible! I found out on Friday that one of my cards is going to be published in the Paper Crafts "Holiday Cards and More Vol.5" magazine that comes out Sep. 14th. I could not stop jumping up and down, and still get butterflies in my tummy when I think about it!

Anyways, as you read from my blog post title, this week, I am going to post cards made with buttons! I have been on a crazy button kick lately, and just can't get enough colors, shapes, and sizes! For today's card I used the super cute set by PTI called "Everyday Buttons". I used SU Kiwi Kiss classic ink, and SU Choco Chip ink to stamp the sentiment. The ribbon was from Big Lots that I got for $1, (LOVE that place) and the patterned paper is by Provo Craft and it is linen paper. I love the soft look of it, and how it looks like the sky! The cute striped epoxy brad is from SU.

Since I am having such a great week and because I have plenty, I am going to share some of my buttons with 1 lucky blog reader!
