Don't You Just Love it When...

Don't you just love it when a card totally comes together without having to sit and stare at it trying to figure out "what it needs"? This was one of those cards for me. I actually got the idea while I was in bed this morning. I hope I'm not the only one who daydreams about card layouts and color combos! For this fun Birthday card I used my new Inkadinka do set "Birthday Fun". I love the solid images that don't have to be colored in to look good. I stamped the balloons with Versa Mark and heat embossed them with clear ep. The birthday wish is also heat embossed with clear ep. The bashful blue polka dot paper is from the SU spring summer hostess set paper pack. The color combo is Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine, and Pacific Blue. I love those colors together! The large eyelet is from my new Cropadile tool and eyelet kit that I got for Christmas from my very sweet little sister Valecia! Thanks sis, I LOVE it! We don't have any exciting New Years Eve plans but we are going out to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant. I hope all of you have a safe, and Happy New Years! I am so grateful for my friends, and the new friends I have made from starting my blog almost 1 year ago. Thanks to all of you for the sweet comments. You really do brighten my day and I love the inspiration I receive by looking at your blogs to! Happy New Year!!

And Now back to Your Regularly Scheduled Programming..

I hope that all of you had a wonderful Christmas! I am sorry that it has been over a week since I updated my blog, but I was enjoying the Holidays with my little family. I spent all day yesterday putting away the Christmas decorations and cleaning. I have been in an organizing kind of mood lately so I have been spending a lot of time doing that as well. Anywho, that is what I have been up to!

I need to get back into my card making routine, and I think todays card is a good start! For this card I used the adorable paper from DCWV called "Baby Girl". The baby is from the SU set "All in the Family" and the super cute sentiment is from the retired SU set "Cuddles and Tickles". I used my new EK success 2 inch scallop punch to mat my SU scallop punch. It is difficult to tell from the picture but the solid pink card stock is glossy pink! It is so much cuter in person. The ribbon is from Oriental Trading, and I used my CB Swiss Dots folder to accent the pink scallop. I LOVE the way this card turned out! Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and I hope all of you have a wonderful New Year!

Thinking of You...

Well, I am officially finished with all of my Christmas cards and I even mailed them out this year so wahoo for me! I have been seeing lots of cute Valentine cards lately so I decided to make a card using Pink Pirouette, and Real Red. I used one of my all time favorite Stampin' Up! sets "Bold Butterfly", and last years Hostess set " For a Friend". I used SU's scallop punch for the long side scallop, and my new EK Success square scallop punch that is a hair bigger then SU's square punch. I love it, and the price I got it for (under $9). Oh my gosh it has been SO cold here today! I hope all of you are staying warm!

An Elephino!

Strange Blog title right? Well, when I was younger my Mom told us a joke that went: What do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhinoceros? Give up? An Elephino! I know it is super corny, but it gave me a chuckle thinking about it. Anyways, if you are still reading thank you for sticking it out. For this card I used an adorable image and sentiment from High Hopes stamps that my sweet friend Kelly RAK'd me. I used my Prisma Color Pencils and Gamasol to color him in. I had to add a little pink to his ears and cheeks to give him a little personality. The DP is from the DCWV Sweet Stack. The solid color Card stock is SU's Regal Rose, and Certainly Celery. I also used SU Rose grosgrain ribbon for the bow. I also used the Cuttlebug Embossing folders Swiss Dots, and Houndstooth. The layout is this weeks sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I love it and plan to use it in other cards. Here is the sketch if you would like to try it for yourself. I hope that all of you are staying warm this week. Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!

Birthday Album

My son turned 1 last Friday and I thought it would be fun to have a little photo album of some of his Birthday pictures to display in my card room. For this album I used MM chipboard and ribbon that I bought at Biglots, and the DP is from the DCWV Baby Boy stack. The baby stamp is from the SU "All in the family" set. I used my SU photo corner punch for the photo accents. I really need to use that punch more often! As soon as I get Cam's B-day pics developed I will put them in his photo album and take a pic so you guys can see what a little cutie he is! Thank you for visiting my blog today!

A Birthday Epiphany

For the last several years I have made dozens of Birthday cards, but it did not occur to me until today that "Ya know, wouldn't it be a good idea to make a matching gift tag for the Birthday card you made?" I don't know about you but I always have tons of DP left after I make a card and 75% of the time it goes into my scraps bag and there it sits. So from now on I am going to make matching gift tags with the Birthday cards that I make. For these cards I used the fun paper from DCWV called "The Sweet Stack". I can already tell that this may be the first stack that I ever run out of. All of the papers are adorable and so much fun. I love it! I used my Stampin' Up! Curly Label punch and stamp set and the SU Scallop punch. The heart stamp on the scallop is from Close to my Heart. It has been a cold rainy day, but I am glad that it hasn't been ice and snow. I hope that all of you are staying warm and that you have a great evening! Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

I Can't Make a Card Without Ribbon

First of all I have to say that I am SO happy with the way this card turned out! My Hubby gave me the idea of watercoloring a blue sky in the background although it is difficult to see from the picture. I went with a very simple layout and kept the focus on the stamped images. For this card I used the retired SU set "Tags and More" and the sentiment and tree are from the current Winter Mini SU set "Season of Friendship". If you don't have this set I totally recommend getting before it's too late! I love this set! I used the SU Mat Pack and paper distresser to rough up the edges. The ribbon is SU Choco Chip grosgrain. Speaking of ribbon I almost didn't add any ribbon to this card, but I just had to! I can't make a card without ribbon. But, I really should use as much ribbon as I can since I have enough to last me until the end of time. LOL Thank you for visiting my blog today and I hope that all of you are having a great weekend!

My Baby is 1 Today!!

My sweet baby boy is 1 years old today! I can't believe that an entire year has gone by. I made him a cake but he wasn't too interested in eating it. I will post pics tomorrow. I got some really cute ones! For this card I used the SU set "Monkey Business", and the scallop is last years Sellabration set "So Many Scallops". I use that set all the time! The colors I chose are Baja Blue, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate Chip. The cupcake stamp is from Just Johanna's stamps. I hope that all of you have great weekends. Stay warm!

Blessings

This cute little cat is a stamp from High Hopes given to me by my sweet friend Kelly. I used prima pencils and gamasol to color it in and my new Curly label punch and stamp set on the Merry Christmas sentiment. I used my DCWV Holiday stack and Big Lots ribbon to accent the card. Today is a good day because we received good news about my Dad so I can finally breathe a deep sigh of relief. We have been blessed yet again and this Christmas will be extra special because we have even more to be thankful for. I hope all of you are having a wonderful week and thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. The power of prayer DOES work!

I need a cupcake

The past two weeks have been difficult, and at times like this I am so thankful that I have a hobby that allows me to "escape". I have been on a DCWV paper kick lately and as soon as I saw the "Sweet"paper stack I knew I had to have it. I used a 50% off coupon over the weekend and helped fuel my paper addiction. Yes, I am addicted to paper and I'm not afraid to admit it. The cupcake stamp is from the Cupcake set by Inkadinkado. It is so cute! I used my stickles glitter to add dimension to the cupcake. The brown polka dot ribbon is from American Crafts. I think this card turned out super cute. Now if I just knew anyone having a Birthday soon. lol.

Relaxing Anniversary

Joe and I had a quiet 5 year anniversary yesterday. We didn't do anything super exciting but it was wonderful just spending the day with our little family. I had so much fun making this card! I used my new set "All in the family" that I bought during Stampin Up's Holiday Extravaganza. I am so happy I bought this set. The bundle sold out fast so I was happy to get my order in before they were gone. The DP I used was from last springs Mini "Afternoon Tea" and everything else was from SU except for the "our". Joe loved his card, and I loved making it. I hope all of you are having a nice weekend. It is crazy cold here today, and the wind is blowing SO hard. Brrrr! It is a good day to stay inside and work on cards. hehe.

Five years and counting

Tomorrow (December 6th) My husband and I will celebrate our 5th year of marriage! I can't believe that it has been 5 years already. We have been together for a total of 8 years. It is hard to believe that it has been that long. I am so lucky to have a wonderful, thoughtful loving Husband. He is my best friend, and an amazing Father to our baby boy. Tomorrow I will post the anniversary card I am making him!

For todays card I used the SU set " Cute and Curly". I bought it last week during Stampin Ups Holiday Extravaganza. I LOVE the coordinating punch that came with the bundle. I have been on a punch kick lately. For this card I used SU's Red Riding Hood Red, and Kiwi Kiss. I used Choco Chip wide grosgrain ribbon to accent the card. The snowflake background was made using the Snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder. I love the simple elegance of this card. I hope all of you have a safe and warm weekend!

Friendship Lasts Forever

Happy Wednesday! I know I say this all the time but boy time goes by so quickly! On this day (December 3rd) last year Cameron was supposed to arrive, but in true Cam fashion he made us wait 9 days till he was ready to see the world. I have been emotional for the past two weeks reflecting back a year of how excited we were for our baby boy to get here. It really does seem like yesterday. *sigh* Ok, enough sappy stuff and on to today's card! For this card I used the SU set "A Flower For All Seasons" and the sentiment is from "Season of Friendship". I used my aqua painter and SU ink to hand paint the image. The designer paper is from SU, and the green paisley background was made with a background stamp using Wild Wasabi ink. I like this card because it could be a Christmas card, but it could also be just a December friendship card. I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Fairy Merry Christmas!

Happy Tuesday! It is cold, cold here so Cam and I are staying inside today. This card is pretty bright, and much "busier" then my usual card but I think it is a fun card nonetheless. For the first time ever I used Goo Gone to blend my prisma pencils, and I am not happy with the end result so I am sticking to Gamasol. Anywho, the image and sentiment are from the adorable stamp company "High Hopes". I used stickles to accent the fairy wings, buttons from Sam's Club, and ribbon from Target. The DP is from DCWV, and I used my Fiskars Shape cutter to cut out the circles. . I hope you are having a great day!

Monday Monday

Monday is here once again. Joe went back to work after having the last 4 days off. It is quiet here without him, well, as quiet as it can be with an 11 month old in the house. lol. We had a wonderful weekend and I hope you did to!

I actually got some card making time in over the Holidays and I decided to go with something simple. I used my SU set "Happy Everything" for the sentiment, and the star was from last years hostess set "Perfect Presentation". I used DP from the DCWV Christmas Stack and then ran it through my Cuttlebug for the nice embossed look. The paper piercing was done using my SU Mat Stack. And finally the ribbon was ribbon I bought for $1 at Big Lots. This card was easy to make, but I am happy with the end result.
