2018 Stamping For Autism Awareness Blog Hop

Hello! Happy World Autism Awareness Day! My name is Veronica Zalis, the host  and organizer of today's Stamping For Autism Awareness Blog Hop. As many in the stamping community know I have a 10 year old son with non verbal autism. Today I am THRILLED to be here along with so many of my dear friends, and amazing stamp companies as we help bring Autism Awareness to the stamping community.

My son Cameron was  officially diagnosed when he was 5. Up to that age his pediatricians thought he was just a "late talker" and that he had a few "quirks". Cameron doesn't display many of the classic autism characteristics. A day with Cameron is actually not that different from a day with any other kid. He loves Disney, listening to music, and organizing his extensive DVD collection.  He doesn't speak but he communicates via smart device and is an extremely advanced typist and speller. I am so very thankful for that. He has no problem letting us know what he is feeling, which 99% of the time is pure joy. We consider ourselves lucky, yes, LUCKY. Cameron has autism, but there are so many that have so many more challenges associated with an Autism diagnosis. Our life isn't always easy but we can't imagine what our lives would be like without him.

“Sometimes it is the people no one can imagine anything of who do the things no one can imagine,” - Alan Turing, creator of the first computer used to break codes during WW II.

When I started organizing this hop I couldn't believe how quickly stamp companies enthusiastically offered to sponsor AND take part in the Stamping For Autism Awareness Blog Hop. These are the generous and just flat out fantastic companies that have donated over $1,100 in prizes!!

To create my rainbow puzzle background I used the single puzzle metal die to create a stencil. It was time consuming, but easy! I am thrilled with the end result. I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink to create my bright, rainbow background. The striped ribbon is retired Stampin' Up! ribbon. I save EVERYTHING!

To create this card I used the negative die cut of the Stitched Heart Stax from My Favorite Things. I used three shades of Tim Holtz Blue Distress Oxide Ink. I heat embossed the sentiment using white Stampin' Up embossing powder. I did that before sponging the blue heart. The butterfly is from the MFT Beautiful Butterflies stamp and die set.

I invited a FANTASTIC group of designers and friends to join me today. The cards they created are absolutely amazing. Prizes will be chosen from the comments on this blog, and all of the designers posted below.

Inspired By All The Little Things #80

Hello!  Its time for a new challenge at Inspired By All The Little Things. Wow, I can't believe two weeks went by since our last challenge, but it did. For this weeks challenge I chose a country chic inspiration photo with a little something for everyone:

Here is the card I created:

I was inspired by the colors, and wood paneled background.

To create my card I used the adorable set from Darcie's Stamps called "Hop On Unicorn". I added lots of die-cut layers to build my "heavenly" scene.

I hope you will play along with us this week at Inspired By All The Little Things!

Hello and welcome to Inspired By All The Little Things #79! This month I will be hosting the challenge on the main Inspired By All The Little Things Blog, but I wanted to be sure to share the challenge picture here with you as well:

Here is the card I created for this weeks challenge:

To create my card I used the negative pieces from the MFT Brick metal impression plate. I lightly distressed the blocks with white craft ink.  The heart was created with several designs of heart themed washi tape that I cut into a heart shape using the MFT Stitched Heart dieshttp://inspiredbyallthelittlethings.blogspot.com/. The "hello" die is from Wplus9 Basic Greetings die set. The cute little bike is from YNS.

Celebrating Fall With YNS

Hello! Today I am sharing two cards I created using the adorable YNS stamp set “Sandy Squirrel. I have always enjoyed watching and feeding squirrels. They have so much personality! This stamp set was just too cute to pass up! Here are the cards I made:

I LOVE all of the adorable die cuts that YNS has. That stitched grass, so cute! I colored my squirrel with Copic markers and the background was created using Distress Oxcide ink.

To create my second card I used the masking technique to create my tower of squirrels.
Karen at YNS was nice enough to give me an extra Sandy Squirrel stamp set to share with a lucky commentor on today’s post! I’ll draw the name of the winner on Saturday afternoon. Thanks for stopping by!

Essentials By Ellen July Release - Lets Be Mermaids!

Hello! I am thrilled to be joining Ellen Hutson this week to share a card using a stamp set designed by the super talented Julie Ebersole! Here is the "Mermaid Tailstamp and die set I used to create my card:

                                                              And here is my card!

I stamped my mermaid tail using the Hero Arts "Mermaid" Ombre ink pad. It works perfectly! I used Peerless Watercolors to create my ocean themed color wash. To add a bit of gold I sponged a little bit of Gold Delicatta ink directly onto my card base. I had a lot of fun making this card, and  Mermaid Tail is such a unique stamped image. It's a definite must have! Thanks for stopping by!
