{Paper Crafts 2012 Gallery Idol Audition}

galleryidol2

  Eeek! Last year I didn't have the courage to audition for Gallery Idol, but this year, thanks to a little nudge from Miss O, I decided I better give it a shot.  So, here is my first entry! The theme for the first round of auditions is "Encouragement". I created this card using the PTI set "Rosie Posie". I know I am probably the very last person to buy this set but I chose it as a prize in Feb, and just got it in the mail last week. I've had the matching dies for three months! Torture, but well worth the wait. I applied crackle glaze to the large flower to give it some extra dimension. The butterfly and sentiment are from the  Technique Tuesday New Release "Take Flight". I picked up this set at a scrapbook store in Texarkana Tx called Scrapbookers Emporium. They were so nice, and had a great selection of hot and trendy items. I am going back for sure! I stamped the butterfly in Slate Gray ink by A Muse Studio, and Soft Sky by Stampin Up. I used a blender pen to spread out the color. I love the soft touch of color!

 The color inspiration for my card is from the current challenge at The Play Date Cafe:

Such pretty colors! I loved using the color combo and will be using it again for sure! Well, that's it for today. Good luck to everyone trying out for this years Gallery Idol! Have a wonderful day and thank YOU for visiting my blog!

What a beautiful card! And so perfectly done! You might be the last to have this stamp but since those are "eternal", well, it's as if you were the first one to use them! :) OK, I'm finished, off to bed, can't keep my eyes open anymore!

Wow, I absolutely love everything about this. The simple style, the colors and the crackle is a nice touch.
